May not apply to you (yet!) but Prop 19 lets you transfer your existing Prop 13 tax base to your new home if you or your spouse is 55 or over. We bought in the Bay Area in 2001, so our tax basis was a lot lower than current market value. Our property taxes actually went down when we moved. Our carry forward Prop 13 tax basis was less than the new home value, so it because our new basis, and we now have fewer parcel taxes. We actually pay less than the people we bought the house from paid and less than we paid in the Bay Area.
you keep throwing out troll bait but your 'typical week' of 2000 miles driving a vehicle with a massive gas tank pulling a massive 8000lb trailer at 90mph with no bathroom breaks is 'atypical' and NOT HAPPENING with an ev, so why not drop it?
Hello bit, welcome to yesterday!! Are we discussing EV or gas tanks in the EV forum? 🧐
@AMIRZA786 My friend with ‘23MYLR and ‘22M3LR said he averages 180-200 miles at 80mph. Move to Texas. No state income tax and EV friendly.
My uncle moved to Bay Area at age of 21 after he got out of the military. He worked and retired in Bay Area. Now he lives in Louisiana. He has a few properties. One is 100 acres. Other 2 properties comes with acreage as well. Only thing, it’s hot here.

Thanks @BayeauxLex , if you give me an acre or two on that massive farm you own, I'll consider it
STEADY-STATE CRUISING SPEED THAT EQUATES TO EPA COMBINED RANGE
Lucid Air Pure: 47 mph
Kia EV9: 66 mph
Subaru Forester: 77 mph
“When talking about highway speeds, the difference between 55 mph and 75 mph is a loss of 88 miles of range in the Lucid Air and 109 miles in the Kia EV9. Bumping up the cruising speed from 70 to 80 mph reduces the Air's range by about 40 miles and the EV9's by roughly 45.”
I’m an 80s mph roadtrip driver. What about you guys and gals?
from the article:
"Steady-state driving in an EV is the worst-case scenario for range"
read the article, had no idea about the above.

Yes I believe Tesla moved to Austin area. There’s plenty of charging stations in Texas especially around DFW, Houston and down by Austin and San Antonio area. That’s where I see the most EVs.
Come to Louisiana and it’s like a movies from the 80s where charging stations are far in between. Like I mentioned couple days ago, saw a lightning parked at a home out in rural area and closest charging station was 48 miles away.
Jill you actually read the EV article I posted.❤️ Some just jumped in the comment section looking for a fight about ⛽️ tanks and ⛽️ cars in the EV forum. 🤦♂️

You're in Texas, correct? If I'm ever visiting our San Antonio office, I'll make it a point to come on down if you are not too far away

that’s pretty cool. Toyota moved to Texas, out of California. Toyota was very forward, thinking. Toyota used to symbol cars in California, they left that years ago. Tesla will follow

You really have no idea what you are talking about. Their engineering and R&D is in California, and they continue to expand Fremont. Why would they leave a state that put them on the map, and buys the majority of their vehicles in North America? Do you make up stuff as you go along? Sorry if I sound harsh, but you should really think before you commit words to paper, so to speak

cheaper to manufacturer elsewhere. Texas is where Cybertruck is made. when Covid hit, the Chinese manufacturing plan reopened earlier for china than the California plants. lots of regulations, no different than Canada, where some cars are made

And? Model Y, Model 3, Model S, Model X and Semi are all made in Fremont for the Western US. Cyber truck sales are nothing compared to Model 3 and Y sales. Austin mostly builds for Eastern and Southern US. Headquarters were moved to Austin for tax purposes

I’m back and forth between Louisiana and Texas.
I know you say California is EV capital but I would guess Texas is a close 2nd. They are everywhere.
Also if you ever move to Texas (DFW area) pick up a Lexus RZ…if your drive a Lexus in DFW you get free parking a lot places…Texas Rangers, Dallas Cowboys and Dallas Mavericks all have designated free parking if you drive a Lexus. A lot other places like restaurants also have free valet parking. Quick search even in San Antonio as well
I need to visit Laguna one day in California. My friend went to Laguna and Willow Springs couple months ago. He hasn’t stopped smiling since!!

Spoiler
Toyota is in Plano, TX which is in the DFW area. They do some of their off road testing at one of the race tracks I visit which is Eagles Canyon Raceway which also has an off road track. It’s literally in the middle of nowhere.
The EV article I posted I thought was an interesting read. C&D latest headline, the Lyric. I admit it’s growing on me.

oh for sure, the lyric looks better with age. A very nice design. Toyota has a crown Signia but it’s a hybrid, the lyric style of vehicle will become trendy. Stylewise
from the article
plus nappa leather upholstery and a panoramic sunroof. All versions include Super Cruise. And Apple Car Play
All the good stuff.
using real leather, always figured real leather in a zero emissions car was taboo
saw this today. Sharp looking. Smaller than lyric.
