General EV Conversation
To me it’s still a gamble. Anecdotal but a friend of mine has an EQS AMG suv and his first one they had to buy back because they had it for over a month and took a while to figure out what was wrong and on his replacement one he has had it at the dealer a couple times with one service appointment being extended (can’t remember how long he said) for another issue that took the dealer a while to fix. Buying a used one may be cheap up front but could cost a lot of time and money at a dealer if things go wrong.
Here's one that is less "clickbait-y".

Under 35k and 17k miles. Considering dealers want these gone, Is it safe to assume that one can negotiate that down to 30k?
There's about 20 others available for 35k or less too.

just thought about a stat that seems kind of amazing. in 2024 ford lost about $5Bn on EVs and sold less than 100,000. so that’s $50,000 loss per vehicle on average.
in 2025 they’re projected to have even higher losses.

Well, their ICE sales (specifically F-150) will be subsidizing their EV sales for the foreseeable future
A lot of that is platform development costs which are front loaded.
Taycan sales have fallen off a cliff wouldn't be surprised if the model is cancelled. In the UK there was a stop sale for fire risk.

Check out A Better Route Planner. It does require some setup to get best results. With mine, it gets live real-time data from the vehicle via a Bluetooth LE dongle connected to the OBDII port.
Apple Maps and Google Maps also support EV routing.
I don't know the chargers on your route, but I'd personally be looking to see if the route works with a couple of shorter stops rather than one 40 min stop, unless the 40m stop was somewhere I'd stop anyway.

The hard part about my trip was that I was going there and coming back in the same day. Once I made it there and put in the nav that I was going home it routed me to a super charger necessary to get home. Took more planning than I would like but it worked well. We just need more charging stations.
All in all, one stop on the way up for 15 minutes and one stop on the way back for 8 minutes. Now that Tesla changed the range ratings to be more accurate vs the BS in my previous Plaid, the range was more true.
