i don’t really get why amirza keeps the sienna - yeah it’s paid for and yeah it holds a ton, but how often is it driven or needed? could just rent one.
The other thing that holds me back from going BEV is just availability of models that I want to buy. For the most part EVs are still "quirky" and different looking and I'm not somebody who likes quirky or different looking. I want a vehicle that looks just like every other kind of car on the road. Like the Lucid Gravity, its not something I would ever choose for myself, its kind of odd looking...I don't love the little square steering wheel, etc. I like the Tesla Model S, but I wouldn't want any of the other models. The Hyundais are too quirky. BMW IMO has the right idea where they all look the same, but BMW's styling in and of itself is a challenge ICE or EV.
Like I have said before, if they made an EV S Class that looked just like the gas one, I would have that. the i7's styling held me back more than any fear over going full EV. I have hope the next round of Mercedes EVs are going to be a lot more normal looking.
EV E Class test mule:
The full EV Range Rover also really appeals to me because it is identical to the ICE RR:

The latest Jeep Wagoneer EV looks a bit like an RR - clean lines. 👍

I keep it precisely because of what you listed. My son is now using it in Berkeley, so it is driven a lot.

Why do I need to rent when I have one already?
didn’t realize it was being used a lot still, that’s great.m if it weren’t being used much then to your question… because you’d still be paying insurance, registration, maybe inspection there, and a car not driven is going to have problems over time (tires rotting for one).

Why do I keep my Lexus it is the ultimate garage queen. Because I have a hard time letting go.

i had some difficulty letting go of the LC, but for me it was the right thing to do. everyone’s different of course. and we can all rationalize anything.
If a car is paid for and largely depreciated...why not keep it if you have the room for it? I can understand say getting rid of the LC because theres money tied up in it and its depreciating sitting there and not getting used. But for AMIRZA's Sienna, its worth nothing...paid for...gets used here and there and there is room for it may as well keep it.

Yep, it does get used. And nothing is as practical as a minivan. Plus I would never trade this for the new Sienna, which I'm not a fan of. Insurance is not that much, $120 a month and registration is about $170 a year, although I have to smog it every other year . Gas is another story
Electricity prices jumped 29% in Ontario overnight

A hassle for most to have to maintain, insure, and keep on the road.

Looks smaller than full size. Like 7/8ths

This isn't a challenge...its just bad looking

-YoY expected decline, as expected
-effects hevs, phevs which was not expected, and the effect is not as bad.
-ceos are hoping that now that the cheap lease customers are gone, the real ev buyers will stand up to take up the mantle and buy for the future.
-data is ford legacy only, but you can find even bigger dips on other outlets, like 71% drop at Kia/Hyundai.
