The Lexus NX has long been one of the more popular models in the luxury brand's lineup, providing customers with a smaller, more affordable option in a red-hot segment. For the 2026 model year, the NX isn't changing too much, but there are some notable tweaks shoppers will want to be aware of.

What's New For 2026?

The 2026 Lexus NX is being treated to only minor changes, but there are several, including the addition of front-wheel-drive for all NX 350h models, in addition to the existing all-wheel-drive offering. All hybrid models can now be paired with the F Sport Handling trim as an option, too.

Premium NX crossovers are adding the plug-in hybrid powertrain for 2026, and all PHEV models now come with dual voltage charging cables for both Level 1 and 2 capability.

In terms of colors, all 2026 NX trims get Infrared as a new option, and Ultra White is also now available across the lineup.

Powertrains & Fuel Economy

As was previously the case, the 2026 Lexus NX can be had with one of three powertrain options, including a traditional gas engine, a hybrid, and a plug-in hybrid. 

NX 350 (AWD)

The NX 350 comes equipped with a turbocharged 2.4-liter inline-four-cylinder gas engine, which generates 275 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque. It's mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. This setup is good for an EPA estimated 24 mpg combined, 28 mpg highway, and 21 mpg city.

NX 350h (FWD/AWD)

Moving up to the NX 350h gets one a 2.5-liter four-cylinder gas engine paired with one electric motor for front-wheel-drive applications, or two in all-wheel-drive models. In either case, the hybrid powertrain generates 240 combined horsepower. The FWD version delivers an EPA estimated 40 mpg combined, 38 mpg on the highway, and 42 mpg in the city. The AWD variant sacrifices 1 mpg in every category. 

NX 450h+ (AWD)

As for the NX 450h+, its PHEV powertrain consists of a 2.5-liter four-cylinder gas engine paired with a high-capacity lithium-ion battery and hybrid transaxle to deliver an EPA-estimated 37 miles of electric-only driving range, as well as 304 total horsepower. The EPA estimates this powertrain will deliver 34 mpg combined in hybrid mode after depleting 37 miles of all-electric range.

Interior

The 2026 Lexus NX is available with four different interior color options:
