Gonna give a massive shoutout to the much-maligned marvel that is the modern minivan. There was no better vehicle for us than our minivans when our kids were little, and we appreciate them at least as much if not more the second time around now that we have young grandchildren. Absolutely unbeatable as a family vehicle, and it still beggars belief that some would not drive one solely because of the “stigma” but would happily drive an absolutely terrible alternative - and struggle with the consequences. But at least they weren’t driving a minivan, right? We are loud and proud minivan advocates.
Same here, impossible to beat a minivan for hauling a family around.
Electricity prices jumped 29% in Ontario overnight
gotta keep paying those INSANELY high salaries to hoards people in hydro doing nothing.

it’s not in your sig though.
more seriously, minivans are indeed super useful. relatives had a dodge caravan for probably 15 years and then got another one about a year ago… and they wanted the SAME VEHICLE… they got one of the last year ones.
super reliable, tons of room, noisy as hell, 80s dashboard lol
not sure what any of this has to do with EVs though.

Minivan is useful, but there's nothing interesting about it . Also why it was brought up

I'm just guessing, but the answer to that would probably be, they don't have to. A tank will usually last a week, and if you drive a hybrid, I know some people who fill up every two to three weeks. That said, I would personally rather have the ability to "fuel" at home, even if I had to plug in every night
Welp, unofficial recall on my Wrangler 4Xe went out.. Park outside, Don't charge. Risk of burning down everything. LOL
Driving around in Non EV mode will be amazing for my mpg. Hopefully I'm one of the few 4XEs without the affected battery.
Rumor is Samsung SDI went around Jeep to NHTSA Jeep was trying to avoid it. With the shut down, people are not being officially notified.
Last Stellantis product I'll ever own. I'm already looking at going back to Lexus. Maybe i can buy my old 2GS300 back?
That’s too bad about the Jeep and the issue with the battery
Meh, If they mail me a letter. The clock starts. They don't fix in 90 days, I'll start the process to get out of the lease. I actually want a full electric. Like I said, i don't drive much.
Seems like I can find fault in every EV out there. (that I can afford)

Sorry you are having issues. I have a 2023 Model Y AWD with 42k and a 2024 Model 3 AWD with 13k and zero issues. May not be your cup of tea, but reliable to the end

Brother has a Y with all the bells. Cousins on his second 3. have a few friends with S's and a X. Hit or miss with their real world reviews.
I'm definitely going to rent or test drive borrow a few before getting something. I'd be all over a Rivian if they weren't so damn 'spensive'.
Not sure what folks think of this (Also too new for credible reviews)... https://www.scoutmotors.com/traveler
I'm sure that's gonna be more money than a Rivian too.

Definitely take a Y or 3 for a test drive. You will be pleasantly surprised.
There is a Scout commercial that I've seen a few times. Looks really cool. I believe the brand was acquired by VW
Almost 2 mos with my wife's 2026 GLC350e and still with 1/4 tank left (1,217 miles on odo)
Over 60 miles on pure electric.
She has also taken 2 trips to South Jersey.

I was saying earlier that the gas station argument presented earlier doesn't really work, I know people with hybrids who fill up every couple of weeks. The advantages of home charging are it's cheaper, and more convenient, but not having to fill up constantly is also convenient
