C'mon @BayeauxLex . I'm probably never going to buy another gas car because EVs just work better for my lifestyle. I can charge them at home, they cost me very little to operate, low maintenance, they drive smooth as glass, and they perform extremely well. I promise, I don't hate gas cars. Ok I'm not a fan of four cylinders, but so does striker and AJT.
If I say something critical about a particular car, it doesn't mean I hate them as a whole.
What I'm saying is, I don't hate ice just because I personally prefer BEVs
No. The problem is all EVs aren’t better than gas cars at everything as you continue to point out. Then when a gas car does outperform an EV it’s always “well it’s 2x the price”…”I don’t mind to stop to charge for 10-20 min because I was going to stop to take a leak anyway”
Then bit will give his 2 cents stating it’s too loud 😩.
I’m almost convinced bit communicates in text, emails, and sign language and puts a pillow over his GF’s face when it’s freaky time. 🙃🙉
Lex 💩 on gas cars but owns more ⛽️ vehicles than he does EVs and for odd reason won’t get rid of his gas vehicles.
I'll never understand the "my side or the wrong side" type discussions on this. I guess it's just mirroring present day society. I, for one, can not live with just a BEV. I also don't want to live without one.
And I 100% understand that.
Sometimes I wish I had an EV with all the driving around I do.

Cars don’t exist if they don’t have between 8-12 cylinders according to striker. If I didn’t know better, @Striker223 will have you believing Audis are reliable. 🙃😂

Posting street racing is automatically disqualifying.
But talking about it and laughing at ICE owners over it is okay?

How about this? Put $30k in the model 3 performance and let’s see if it can outrun the G80
Thats just it. Nobody who buys an M3/4 Comp is worried about money, wither upfront acquisition cost or maintenance cost. That car delivers an experience that the Model 3 just doesn't deliver and to people who value that experience are happy to pay that cost. Hell, to me those cars are cheap! I could buy one AND a Model 3 and save money. Its all relative.
Talking about cost though, the BMW will hold its value much better than the Model 3.

100%, I just don't get why this is so polarizing. I like both technologies for different reasons and IMO they are each better suited to some types of vehicles than others.
So here's an interesting question. If you take a car that many on here seem to like for various reasons, including Bit who owned it, what would you do in this scenario... Let's say Lexus offered the LC as an EV next year. The ride quality that many of us know and love about Lexus would be identical to the ICE version of the LC. Interior is identical, etc. Let's say the 0-60 and 0-100 times are identical as well. It's literally the exact same car - just one is offered as ICE and one is offered as EV. What would you choose?
I drove a new convertible LC a few years ago at a car "event" - it was a nice day in May, I had the top down, and I was driving on a winding road with beautiful trees. The sound of the exhaust as I went through the gears was amazing. I truly loved that car (even though I hated the infotainment, but whatever).
On one hand, the thought of having a car that rode that smooth as an EV would be incredibly compelling. No gears, instant torque, insane ride quality on any road. On the other hand, that sound was addicting.
The appeal of an EV is pretty narrow for me. I'd pick EV if the top criteria was self-reliance, meaning refueling via solar panels at home. In other words, I can't have an oil well and refinery on my property but I can have solar panels. Otherwise, ICE due to convenience of away-from-home refueling.

I would never choose an EV version of the LC. To me the great exhaust note is a huge part of the enjoyment of that particular car.
If there was an EV version of my S Class I would choose that for sure. EV Pacifica? For sure. The only reason I wouldn't choose the full EV version of anything that is improved by it being smoother and quieter is convenience when traveling.

You have ask my friend @BayeauxLex who doesn't seem to accept that I've moved on to BEV's. It's not polarizing to me, if someone chooses to go with ICE, EV, or a combination of the two I see it as personal choice. I strongly believe EV's are a way better technology, but that's just my opinion, and it doesn't mean I hate ICE. I still love and respect ICE vehicles. If EV's didn't exist today, I would be driving something like an M2 or M3 Comp, but now I get the same performance out of my Model 3 (straight line at least), but with almost no maint and at half the cost. Again, just my preference.
BTW Bay, next time you come to my neck of the woods for a track day, I'll borrow my friends M4 or I'll rent something off Turo and we'll shred some tires

I feel like I'm in agreement with you here on all fronts. Well, maybe not the minivan front since I intentionally never owned one of those.. but whatever!

As far as "EV's" You already know my answer . As far as LC, it's just not an LC without the 5.0L

To me, the Lexus LC without its V8 engine is a nonstarter, as that engine is integral to its identity and has been a central part of the LC program since its inception. This emotional connection in design is evident in every detail, both inside and out, and I value it far more than mere specifications. While an EV model may outperform the V8 in terms of performance, I'm perfectly fine with that.
This does bring up a valid point, can ev performance, which is known to hand out a whole can of whopping to ice performance, ever recreate the emotional connection ice does even with its shortcomings? Or will it need to always blend in like hev supercars etc?

We really shouldn't be talking about the LC ICE version, but since we are I'm in agreement here. Without the 5.0L it's not an LC
