Stop you in your tracks exterior? He really does like it? No way he believes that.

Ferrari will have to force people to purchase these before they get a chance to order a real Ferrari. Shameful effort.

To me it's about killing the product on purpose. Why would you build such a clownish car otherwise?

I just watched that. Can't believe he didn't say what everyone is thinking about the styling. Looks like we are in a "the king has no clothes" situation with all these influencers.

Just noticed the "2026 Model Y Performance (on order)" in your sig. I must have missed that. Congrats. What color exterior/interior did you order?

He was super impressed with the clicky dial and how the display changed colours, really? The entire thing is tacky on top of cheese.

Don't have it yet delivery keeps getting pushed back a known issue in Canada. I'm close to giving up and buying a M3P.

There is no rules saying you have to like Tesla, or any other car make or model, and I respect that. Also I will truthfully tell you that both my Tesla's are appliances, very good ones, but none the less appliances. They both serve me well, are efficient and cheap to own, are fast when I want them to be, can be fueled at home, but in no way are luxury cars. The EQS and BMW ix models fit that bill much better
I've no problem with Tesla at all, I'll argue with Tesla proponents when they make disingenuous claims, and poke fun when Elon trolls his gullible followers with ridiculous claims, but other than that I have a lot of respect for Tesla. As I always said, EVs only work mostly for wealthy suburbanites, and these buyers want a degree of prestige, and Tesla was able to convince a lot of people to perceive their cars to be prestigious and premium. Toyota kind of was doing the same during the onset of hybrids, but Prius being prestigious is a hard sell, and they never captured the momentum with the rest of their line up.

In a way it's almost a lifehack to save money, in the eyes of many people an inexpensive Tesla carries as much prestige as much more expensive cars.

I'm around a lot of Tesla owners (and am one myself) and most people who own them don't consider the car prestigious nor luxurious. And I can tell you first hand, I'm not rich. I'm what they refer to as "House rich, cash poor). I have a house worth over a million, but live paycheck to paycheck

Let me tell you why I love my Tesla over say a Camry. It was easy to buy and finance from my smartphone, It has amazing tech that is constantly updated, drives really good, is buttery smooth, cheap to drive, needs very little maintenance, I have access to repair facilities and supercharging all over California. And I only paid $41k otd new. It's only special in the sense that it has 394 HP, yet averages 138 MPGe. But that said, it's an appliance to me, which is why I never got PPF. Now if I owned something like an M2 or M3, you bet it would have PPF protection

Then tell us all the things about Tesla that are great. I mean, they sold 358,000 autos in Q1, so there must be something good about them. And that's WAY bigger than the wealthy suburbanite market.

Posted this in the General thread. We just got back from WV and I was very impressed with how many miles our PHEV Pacifica delivered on battery power, even with no plugin charge. This is the trip meter for the whole trip, this includes NO plugin charge, we started the trip with 0 plugin battery capacity and never charged it during the trip:
