usually it's only the car's driver that wants to hear the racket a car makes. for everyone else it's
I'm more interested in seeing the look on the faces when their loud performance car gets owned by an appliance. Otherwise, I want quiet, smooth instant torque, power on demand when I need it
Can’t speak for everybody but I wouldn’t care. I don’t care how fast a car is, I’ve never participated in any kind of acceleration contest. I just enjoy the characteristics of a performance ICE car in that context.
Everyday car, luxury car, bring on the EVs but when it comes to a performance car I want an engine. It’s like the people that make fun of the LC for not being as fast as something else. It’s not at all about being fast.
I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again…my friend (fellow Tesla owner) who I’ve shared with some of the stuff posted on here, told me there’s a Elon burner account on this forum.

I totally agree.
Today is a triple posting day. Lol
Been there, done that, not interested in ICE even remotely anymore except as nostalgia. You have to separate Luxury and Performance. People buy performance cars to drive them fast, Luxury cars to be mellow. Nobody in a Luxury car tries to race me light to light or pass me in an unsafe manner, but people in 'Performance' cars do 9 out of 10 times. And as @BayeauxLex says frequently, I can sometimes be a red light bully And an LC BTW is not a performance car, it's a GT.
Nothing against ICE, I just found something better, IMO
And that's all that matters.
When I'm driving it's all about me, me, me.
And don't touch my radio dials! 😁 📣
Don't like it? Walk, lol
So help me understand why it's bad I and others here who have no interest in ICE vehicles anymore but have to keep hearing how the engines sounds are so great. I've never said owning ICE is bad, I just have no interest in ICE. Really I feel like I have to explain myself every time I post in an EV only sub forum. Not sure why that is the case

Your tolerance seems low for anything or anyone not 100% EV. Lol 😁

Only 99% pro EV, sorry, not good enough. Lol
Well, this is an EV only forum, or am I missing something? And you are 1000 percent incorrect. Look at the posts I've done in the General car forum, reviews of several non EV's including my friends M4 Comp. You can see the double standard you are displaying, if I jumped into the non EV forum and started evangelizing about EV's, than what you are saying would be justified
I apologize if my tone is sharp, but I'm kind of tired of double standards. Not saying you are displaying them, but many others do by coming in here and criticizing EV adoption and not understanding how we can care less about engine noises

Unless I.messed it I didn't see much evangalizing for Ice here. 😁
I saw nobody putting down evs.
People have posted about EV in Ice chat, it happens. Oops, no biggie, moving on. Lol
Spoiler
I think I'll stay out of this forum for fear of walking on egg shells.

Than they shouldn't and someone should tell them to stop. Talking about wanting engine sounds in an EV sub forum is evangelizing, just like going into an ICE forum and rubbing instant torque in their faces is. Anyway, moving on

You posted a comparison video of an EV and an ICE vehicle. That is going to result in discussion of how ICE and EVs compare. The point that I made was that the comparison was between two completely different types of vehicles because of the totally different type of propulsion that is being used and the totally different experience those methods of propulsion provide, and how someone who loves the sort of experience they get from the M3 won't have that same experience in the Model 3. Then there are all of these conversations ragging on ICE owners who try and race you etc. That also is going to invite conversations that include ICE.
My point is...if you don't want to *ever* hear about ICE vehicles in this forum...you should refrain from bringing them up. You can't control what other people bring up but you can control what you bring up. You don't need to explain yourself...nobody has asked you to do that.
Personally, to me cars are cars. I don't see why we need to separate discussion of EV and ICE vehicles. They compete with each other, they coexist and they are going to coexist for a very long time. There are positives and negatives for each, there are going to be people who prefer one over the other and as long as the discussions remain civil (which they do)...I don't see what the issue is. I have zero issues discussing EVs in Car Chat for instance...
Let me be clear. I have no issues with debating ICE vs EV and vice versa. I don't have any issues with someone having a preference for one or the other, if you prefer ICE or BEV platforms, I have no problems, and I have no problems with you or anyone else expressing this, including feel of engine sound etc. I do have a problem with double standards like you making statements like you can't compare an M3 to a Model 3 Performance, although the Model 3 outperforms it in many ways just because they have different drive trains. They are both performance focused cars, they both have been compared many times, there are hundreds of Youtube videos comparing them. When this type of double standard goes away, than we can talk

I have explained why IMO the Model 3 to the M3 are very different experiences, because the feel and experience each car gives you is totally different. That's not a "double standard" , thats my opinion, if you have a different opinion share that and we can discuss it...thats what forums like this are all about. I never said you can't compare them, I said they are very different.
Just to quote from the rules:
Please Note: This is not an EV vs ICE forum. Many EV owners are also current and past ICE owners and still have deep love and respect for ICE. Everyone must show respect and not disparage people that own ICE cars, EVs, or anyone that is interested in EVs and the industry as a whole. Aggressive and dismissive EV/ICE arguments will not be tolerated and members are to remain mindful and respectful.
I gotta be honest, I feel disrespected in here often by you guys because I own ICE cars and many of my viewpoints and those of others who are not 100% all onboard with all EV or nothing are dismissed out of hand. Great example is my PHEV thread...you commonly call out people and dismiss their viewpoints because they don't own EVs...
My suggestion is we just talk about cars and be respectful of the different preferences each of us have. We can like aspects of ICE cars and aspects of EVs also...in a performance or sport oriented car I personally like the sound and feel of the engine and I feel that an EV lacks that in a performance car. You don't feel that way and thats okay.
