General EV Conversation
People in this thread are poking fun at you because you take this all way too seriously and you don't let other people have different opinions or tastes without accusing them of all kinds of things. Case in point you said I have little interest in EVs and show disdain for them, which is totally absurd. Clearly I have a lot of interest in EVs and like them a lot, the fact that I recognize drawbacks and don't prefer them in every category doesn't mean I have "disdain" for them.
The point is your preference or my preference doesn't change the fact that they are very different cars. Thats all I said, you would choose the Model 3 and I would choose the M3 Comp because in a performance car the M3 gives me a visceral feeling from the ICE I can't get in the Model 3. My point was there are lots of people out there like me for whom the Model 3 would not be a competitor to the M3 for that reason. If I were shopping for an M3 or M4 I wouldn't even consider a Model 3 or any other EV.
As an example, I wouldn't choose either car I would choose a Mercedes E Class or something like that for the money. Doesn't mean they are competitors. I just prefer a different type of car.

I'm not trying to convince you which is better and which you should prefer. I'm only stating that saying they are not competitors is a double standard. And the thing about disrespect, it goes both ways, calling people who advocate for Tesla being paid is not only an insult, but is pretty disrespectful

I have always shown you plenty of respect.

OK, I'll settle for that. They are very different. But being different doesn't mean they don't compete. I personally know people who were in the market for an M3 or M4 and bought a Model 3P. The owner of this particular M4 Comp owns three Tesla's. He leased the M4 because it's basically a business write-off for him
Anyway I hope we've come to an understanding and cleared things up. I have no issues with your choices, I have no issues if you stay ICE or go EV, choice of EV and your criticisms, even of Tesla, doesn't matter if I think they are valid or not. And hopefully you accept my apology if you think I've slighted you

My desire for an EV has nothing to do with power or speed. It has everything to do with refinement and quietness. If I were looking for a daily car, I would want the Model 3 Performance because I value those things. Honestly I wouldn't even consider an M3 Comp...but thats because I don't really want that sort of car.
