can we just stop talking about non-ev vehicles like tacomas? there's a whole other forum to do that.
I vote for a separate festivus thread, seems a lot of simmering tension these days with a select few, that a mod approved festivus thread can hopefully bring harmony to lol.

I would humbly suggest that the EV drivers stop bringing up ICE vehicles and ICE brands trying to get digs at people who don’t yet have EVs or who aren’t “all in” on EVs. I know for me as an example I never bring up an ICE vehicle or brand.
Example “at least it’s not a boring Toyota” etc. Always going to drag the thread away from EVs.
Just a suggestion. Lots of “planting the seed” and then complaining about the plant that grows in this thread and forum.

You mean we have to stop talking about how fun a Tacoma is? Not going to happen
EV'S are superior to ICE IMHO, which is why I own them and post on this forum. This is an EV forum, if someone doesn't like hearing that, please move on to Car Chat
No issue with that, but it is an open forum and a discussion forum. When you post a statement you’re opening the door to discussion. If you don’t want to open the door to discussing ICEs, you should stop mentioning them. That’s my point. Nobody is posting in here about ICEs except in response to things you post really. That’s how we got to Tacomas. You said Toyotas were boring, that opens the door to a response and the Tacoma was used as an example of one I didn’t think was boring. And there we go. Also remember this is a Lexus forum, and a slant towards defending Toyota and Lexus products is to be expected. It’s actually in the rules.
I have no issue discussing both with a slant to EVs, but I’m not the one complaining when the discussion trends towards ICEs. You’re the one who takes it there. Think about it. You are in control of ICEs being involved in this thread. What you seem to want is to be able to make a comment like that and have people not be allowed to respond and disagree or discuss the point. Thats not fair.
Just give it a little exercise. You specifically never bring up ICEs or primarily ICE brands in ways that doesnt pertain to EVs in this thread and see if they ever get mentioned again.

I have no idea what you are ranting about. I never complained about anything. I think it's you that maybe needs to stop your keyboard bullying and more self reflection
Just give it some thought, go back and look at what brings ICE brands and vehicles into the discussion here.
Who am I bullying? I’m just talking about cars. Nobody is bullying you I just disagree with you. Posting laughing memes at peoples opinions etc is bullying, BTW.
My viewpoint on this is that cars are cars. I don’t see a distinction between an EV and an ICE or a PHEV or HEV, they’re all one market and people especially going forward will consider vehicles from different propulsion types. Take me, I heavily considered an EV but wound up in an ICE, our other vehicle is a PHEV which was a graduation from years of owning ICEs but also a HEV. My next car to replace the Mercedes will almost surely be an EV, and to replace the Pacifica I personally would be open to an EV, or a PHEV, or another full ICE. My wife wants a PHEV or an EV, she is partial to a PHEV. If she said “I will take that GLS” that would be the car in straight ICE 6cyl. I would also be very happy with an all EV Rivian. I want an EV for my daily car but it has to be a car I love. I won’t choose w car with stuff about it I don’t like just because it’s an EV, I will choose another ICE.
The point is the type of propulsion won’t be “certainly” one or the other. As more “regular” consumers explore EVs their decision process also won’t be “only EV” or “only ICE”.

good point. The carmakers that successfully merge ICE/PHEV/EV will be the winner….it really is easier making good looking cars when they are hybrids…EV need to be very aerodynamic to get the range…

I saw a black i7 finally in wild yesterday. I can count on one hand how many I have seen and this is the first in a long time. It looked really good in black, surprisingly good because I never really loved the looks.
As for the Rivian, I would love one and the quad motor to me is something I would pay for but I’m still not ready for full EV adoption until the charging network is built out way more than it is right now.
