Default *** STOP & READ THIS BEFORE POSTING IN EV Chat ***

The purpose of the Club Lexus EV Chat forum is to share and discuss news and events centered around Electric Vehicles and EV related technologies. Welcome topics beyond electric vehicles include public / home charging options, batteries, electric motors, energy generation and storage plus the EV industry as a whole. Insights and caveats from current EV owners are encouraged so our members can ask questions and learn from their experiences.

Please Note: This is not an EV vs ICE forum. Many EV owners are also current and past ICE owners and still have deep love and respect for ICE. Everyone must show respect and not disparage people that own ICE cars, EVs, or anyone that is interested in EVs and the industry as a whole. Aggressive and dismissive EV/ICE arguments will not be tolerated and members are to remain mindful and respectful.

Because of many past issues with EV-related threads in Car Chat, the new EV forum will be heavily moderated and members who break the forum guidelines below will be warned. Subsequent and repeated issues may result in the EV forum being removed from the member's security view so they can no longer participate here. Keep the discussions polite and mature and follow the guidelines.

Note that many past EV threads will be moved from Car Chat to EV Chat, so some behaviors outside what will be allowed here will be in those threads. If those posts are older than the date of this post, consider them 'historical' not a license to engage in kind

EV Chat posting guidelines (please read them all before posting here, your ongoing access depends on following them)

1. Topics should only be EV related including BEV (Battery Electric Vehicles) or PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles) or about EV supporting technology and infrastructure. HEV (Hybrid Electric Vehicles) should continue to be discussed in Car Chat.

2. Keep the discussion polite. You don't have to like EVs to post or reply here, but you do need to have an open mind and discuss any concerns maturely. Don't bait other members into arguments.

3. Do not be repetitive. If you've stated your position earlier in a thread, or stated the same concern in past EV forum threads, then consider you've already been heard and move on from a topic.

4. Remember that Club Lexus is a Lexus enthusiast forum, including EV Chat. While Toyota / Lexus EV offerings and efforts are (currently) relatively immature and undergoing growth and change, constant badmouthing and trolling will get you ejected from this forum. See rules #2 & 3, it's OK to say you don't like something or disagree with some strategy or direction but keep it polite and don't be repetitive. Lexus is why we all ended up here in this community, give them a chance.

5. Experienced EV owners, please help new members understand EV topics. There are going to be a lot of newcomers who don't know anything about electric vehicles. They'll often stumble upon this forum, please help guide them with what you've learned. Over time we will develop an EV FAQ for this forum.

6. Remember that the CL rules of conduct still apply within this forum. Refrain from name calling, rude or offensive posts, flamebaiting, political discussions and overwhelmingly dominating the conversation. Refusal to respect those rules could result in you being asked not to participate in the EV any longer. As a reminder, those rules are located here.

Please report any issues with posts using the 'report a post' button and don't engage when there is an issue. Let the moderator team step in and review any potential problem. It’s up to all of us to help keep the conversation flowing here and keep threads from constantly getting closed.

NOTE: Older threads dated prior to the opening of this forum in June 2023 are being moved from Car Chat to populate the new EV discussion forum. Most of the rules above have been broken in many of those threads (and led to their formation) That does not give anyone license to continue those behaviors in the new EV forum with new posts in those threads or in newly created threads.
