My friend had the screen replaced in his ‘22 model 3LR due to flickering. Would’ve sucked if his gear shift controls were in the screen. 🫣
They tried rebooting process several times and also thought it was due to the screen protector.
A lot of manufacturers are putting more and more options/buttons in the screen. I would hate for my screen to malfunction while trying to perform a simple task.
I've noticed that most of your friends have Tesla's.

Maybe he’s hard on them I get on here and read they’re perfect and need nothing but then he’s is in and out of service. Hell he’s gotten a loaner Y and the AC didn’t work. Maybe he need to wash his hands of the whole EV thing. He loves them though. Got rid of both of his cars gas, picked up 2 teslas and installed 2 chargers. Hasn’t looked back since.
Depending on how far my texts go back I’ll see if I still have video of the screen flickering.

I'm very hard on both my Tesla's, already have over 40k on my Y and 15k on my 3, many trips, lots of supercharging and zero problems.
Nobody here has said they are perfect, not even Lex. You guys gotta stop your boo hoo hoo, it's getting old

He bought his ‘23 Y in May 2023. It’s over 70k. I know his ‘22 model 3 is outside of the factory warranty (50-60k miles) but less than the Y because he was trying to get everything repaired on it earlier this year before the warranty ran out.
My other friend has a model S but he has 2 other gas vehicles as well. Not sure mileage but he was PISSED when the priced lowered to the 70s for a mew model S less than a year after he paid $100k+ for his. Funny quick story in 2017 he never heard of a Tesla until I mentioned to him while him and I were in town for other Tesla friend’s wedding (who still owned gas vehicles at the time).
Both of them bought their teslas for the tax incentive.

Well, now a new Model S is over $100k, he should be happy .
My brother in law has a 2018 Model S, other than a few annoying quality issues he had initially, the only major issue was caused by rodents chewing the harness, $1400. Bought it out before the lease ended, still has it, loves it and the only other vehicle he has is a Rivian, which his wife drives. But she always seems to be driving the S whenever she comes over

Yeah my friend with both Y and 3 despite issues he’s had, he loves not having to go to gas station and FSD. Both of them have the acceleration boost upgrade.
What’s his not so happy with is the cost to insure them and resale value. I asked him would he buy an EV from any other manufacturer other than Tesla and as of earlier this year that answer was no.

Both my Tesla's are about the same price to insure as any of my other cars, and half the cost of what the Ioniq 5 costed to insure
