As always the devil is in the detail. That hummer is two years old. It was purchased in october 2023. It also has damage reported on the carfax. Also, I know someone who has had two of these. No one paid MSRP for these. It also had a reserve price, and it sold above that price. Nothing unusual about this. Price is perfectly reasonable IMO.
I decided to post this in the General EV section, this is by no means an ICE vs EV post, it's just my observations from having to transition from an EV to ICE...for only a very short period Well as most of you know if you read my Model Y thread, the Y is in the body shop due to an accident, and now I'm in a 2025 Malibu rental. The Malibu is only a 1.5L four Cylinder, one of the smallest in use, and gas mileage has not been what I expected. I've been averaging around 23.8 MPG, and I'm not even being a lead foot...in fact nowhere near being one
That's pretty bad. Really bad. I got the car at half tank on Tuesday, and had to fill up today. The cheapest gas is Costco @$3.99 for regular unleaded
It came out to about almost $60. For a car that's not that fun to drive, that's a lot of money to spend on fueling every week. I spend that per month on the Model 3. So basically, this just makes me double down on owning EV's. The way I see it, if you live in a place like California which is EV friendly and has plenty of charging options, I just can't see owning a gas car, the exception being you need a minivan, work truck, or some specific needs. And it's not just about the cost of fueling, but the 100 percent better driving experience. I'm just going to jump out and say it...I can never go back, and will never go back
Never say Never.
You just are comparing the wrong ICE.
I get 40mpg with my hybrid and no range or charging anxeity.
sure reads like an EV vs ICE post.
2nd owner paid $71k for a 2024 6k mile vehicle someone mentioned is $40k under its brand new price.
Does a used Hummer EV pickup not fall under that category? Would the $71k price not reflect its current trade in value?
your posts are clickbait. the car sold on cars and bids is a 24 not a 25 and it has 6600 miles on it, and it's not a popular vehicle, so not surprised it cratered in value.

Hey I just look around on C&B and BAT daily. Gives you an idea of the market. I think your LC would do well on one of those sites if you decide to part with it.

Never means never. The closest ICE that matches my Model 3 in performance is an M2 Comp... twice the price, 5x the maintenance, and uses almost 3x the energy to achieve less performance. So yes, never means never. And it's not an ice vs EV, it's a comparison of why I can't go back to ICE
Did I forget to mention that I average 135 mpg? Tell me one 394 HP, 0 to 60 in 4.1 seconds ICE that even comes close. Even a Prius can't touch that. So yeah, never means never, short a zombie apocalypse

agreed, let's drop ALL "ICE" and non-plugin hybrid talk, as laid out in the rules.
1. Topics should only be EV related including BEV (Battery Electric Vehicles) or PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles) or about EV supporting technology and infrastructure. HEV (Hybrid Electric Vehicles) should continue to be discussed in Car Chat.
drove a new friend's red '23 model S... very nice!
Can't tell about the interior, but that's the car I was looking for when I found my plaid. Red with 19" wheels. But I wanted the white interior and the wood trim. That probably had the carbon fiber interior. In the end, once I saw the same car in black, I changed my mind. Really like the carbon fiber interior trim too. Glad I got what I got, and if I ordered a new one, I'd probably go black with white interior again. When it is clean, it looks really good.

Personally, I don't think there is anything wrong with comparisons, especially when explaining why someone chooses an EV over a traditional car. It's like explaining why you chose a BMW over a Lexus. As long as one isn't trying to start an argument when it becomes problematic, IMO.
To that, my daughter didn't go to work today, and when I was leaving I asked her to move her car. She told me to just take her Chevy Bolt so I can save gas. Really she was just too lazy to move her car 🤣. So I took the Bolt today, and it is a way superior driving experience to the Malibu, smoother, quieter, and just drives so much better. If the rental agreement allowed, I would trade with her in a second
