The next crop of MB EVs will be more traditional and better looking.
oh for sure. BMW got it right by making good designs in either ice or EV. and a V8 is available. Now Toyota is doing it with ES. For sure next gen S class is both V8/EV with same inferior.
Thats specifically the i7. The 7 Series as a whole outsold the S Class in 2024 and has so far YTD in 2025.
How do the leases compare? About the same, or is the 7 cheaper? From what I've seen of both recently, the 7 series would have to be significantly cheaper for me to even think about it over the S Class.

They are cheaper, but not incredibly so. Basically a similar difference to what they have always been. My S580 is $1,860 a month, $140k MSRP. A $140K 760i when I was looking was about $1,600. i7 about $1,400. So, at that price point $200-400 a month isn't going to put me in something I hate.
I think the reason why BMW is outselling the S Class is that includes EV sales, the i7 accounts for 25-40% of 7 Series sales. If you add up S Class and EQS sales, the 7 doesn't equal that total.I don't think you can say every person who wanted an EV S Class would buy an EQS, I wouldn't but I think that is the crux of their failure.
The 7 all depends on the spec. I have grown to like it in the right spec. My neighbor has a black one that is sharp. That white non M Sport one posted above is terrible. This is what I would have spec'ed:
Thats one way to put it. This and the x7 refresh were designed for specially the CHdm.
However that being said, the subjective dislike, objectively makes for some tasty deals, especially if you go demo shopping. I mean some of the leases terms, will make me sing a different tune.
