first amirza, congrats on doing the battery transplants, i've done a bunch on apc and cyberpower ups's with 100% success.
second, looks like gm is really picking up momentum with ev trucks.

had a 270mi. trip on thursday. looked at my free Electrify America charging options and on the way there's a few but i decided to go for the farthest one i could get to... right around 200mi.
got to port st. lucie with 13% charge left. managed to connect car to charger for the first time using the EA 'card' in my apple wallet (tap to pay) vs. manually specifying which charger i was using in the app.
i'd previously set the car to dc charge to 90% but realized there was no need to go that high since i didn't have much further to go and charging slows after 80%. so i stopped charging at 85%. it took about 20 minutes. gave me time to wander into the giant walmart for a bio break.
during the charge it got up to 232kw charging speed.
so i'm 100% record for great EA charging.

as of next week i'll have the option to pay to charge at tesla superchargers too. the turnpike in florida has sc's at their rest stops which would be pretty convenient on there, and, i found out, a couple of pretty lame looking non-tesla chargers too.
during my 'visit' (until tonight) and all the running around helping someone move i'd brought the charge level down to about 31%. i decided to get a charge tonight before heading back tomorrow. went to the local walmart supercenter and nice 350kw EA chargers awaiting. i charged to 85% again in about 15 minutes or so and again, cost with tap and no-pay
: $0.

another nice thing about ev public charging is talking to other ev owners because unlike gas, we're likely to be there more than 2 minutes, and we're not standing in gasoline stink or listening to that harley or coal rolling truck pull in.
this trip i spoke to a young person who rented a ford mach-e they didn't request but the rental company said it was one of their 'premium' vehicles.
this person had never driven an ev. this was also their first time charging. all smooth and she couldn't believe how quiet and smooth and quick the car is, as we know.
also on the trip (last night) i did a quick charge before heading back today and spoke to an uber driver who lives in an apartment with no chargers, so they use public charging only. they were driving a 1 yr old kia ev6 (same platform as my ioniq 5). he said EA had ended his 2 yr free charging because of how much charging he's doing. i wasn't aware there were limits, but it certainly makes sense. also there last night was a bmw i4.
on the trip back today stopped again at the same station i hit coming down to ideally get enough charge to make the remaining 200mi. in one go. i charged to 95% in about 20 minutes. at that station i saw a bmw i7 (yuuuge and matte gray/black). we made it home with about 30mi. range left which was fine.

That was my favorite part of taking the Polestar on trips, I met a lot of EV owners and we would discuss our experiences, etc. Going to Tesla superchargers is not as interesting, what are you going to talk about? I did have a guy once come over and ask me about my door handles on the Y, but most just keep to themselves, stretching their legs or taking a bio break

as i said, i just enjoy talking to others about their experience with whatever vehicle they have or just looking at them if they don't seem open to talking. on my first couple of EA charging experiences where i didn't know what i was doing and it wasn't obvious i had a couple of nervous 'help me!' conversations with others.

but probably a combo of i know better how to use them and they've made them more straightforward to me now they too 'just work'. until this trip i'd not used the tap and 'pay' with the EA card in my apple wallet. did it 3 times this trip, perfect.
i also saw a red prolog last night too... super sharp looking.

So I've got the reservation for the R2 on the docket, but my wife has been saying she wants something as small as possible since she only drives to/from work and to/from the kids activities. If we ever need to move stuff we have both the R1S and Ody. So we're looking at the EX30 for her. We may go to the local Volvo dealer to check it out, but we're not in a huge rush as her 3 is doing great and has low miles, but I always like looking at new things
Hopefully they've had time to work out the early SW bugs

Side note, Volvo dealers and mfg are in tussle with a metric ton of unsold XC40 recharges on the docks stateside.
