Ev sales have now went from expo growth to linear growth worldwide. 2027 regs should be relaxed, but i dont see many companies pull back solid ev plans. Only the PR heavy fairy dust plans are being cancelled ie maserati.
Just as a side note on Apple CarPlay. I find the interface frustrating at times, even though I have it autoload on my Audi at startup. It's very annoying to me that on maps, it won't let you click on icons within the map. So if you see a gas station for example, icon on the map itself, you can't just click on it and it won't pull up a "navigate to this" screen. You're forced to use that stupid keyboard when stopped or incompetent Siri. Also very annoying is opening apps you haven't opened in a while on CarPlay, and it asks you to log in or accept some terms on your phone....
Winter was not kind to me in terms of efficiency. R1S averaged 1.9 mi/kWh. I started working primarily from home so I couldn't pad the numbers with the surprisingly efficient round trips, did a lot more long 80 mph drives, and it was just plain cold this year with most of my long driving days in the low to mid teens. NJ -> Boston was bad and when the R1S iced over in the Poconos I had to run max heat for an hour before I could get it on the road. I reset it today and with a mild 70F day, I was back to 2.4. I was sitting closer to 1.88 for a bit before a warmer stretch before the time change

I think you mentioned you don't have a heat pump? Without a heat pump, efficiency is down the drain getting into the 30's
Yup, no heat pumps in Gen 1 but we get a bigger frunk. Despite the efficiency hit, I still prefer the resistive heaters because they pump out the heat fast.

They work really well, but they also eat the energy stored in your battery fast

That's the advantage of having 135kWh on tap
I'm curious about how long it would've taken the R1S to de-ice if it was using a heat pump. Hood probably would've thawed quicker because of the pump location, but I wonder how the rest of it would've fared. All in all, it took 2-3% to get it all off

That's true. I don't have the answer to that. The most my car has ever been iced up is some frost on the windshield
Toyota battery electric vehicles will compete in Europe’s core B, C and D-SUV market segments
World premiere of the all-new battery electric Toyota C-HR+ C-SUV
New bZ4X, all-new Urban Cruiser and Toyota C-HR+ all scheduled for launch in 2025
“Toyota will continue to grow its BEV range and deliver on its ambition to reveal 6 new BEV models by the end of 2026. Following the example set by the new Urban Cruiser and Toyota C-HR+, these will adopt a traditional naming strategy to make them familiar and instantly recognisable to customers.”
Toyota will have a great EV range next year. The refreshed BZ4x (real alternative to Model Y) will sell well, even the current crippled one is a best seller in Europe.
