I think most superchargers are at .45/kw on peak hours and as low as $.30 in off peak. But slower level 2 chargers in public are still in the $.20s
Can you save a little extra by charging off peak where you live?

Someone had posted in the Car Chat section an article that Mercedes will not be putting a V8 in the AMG C63. I have no idea what to believe anymore. To V8, or not to V8? I dunno Anyway, here's the AMG Electric Performance Sedan they announced

Mercedes-AMG Electric Performance Sedan: Everything We Know

Mercedes-AMG made its first electric vehicle over a decade ago—no, not the EQS. The extremely limited SLS AMG Electric Drive was Stuttgart’s first performance EV, but the brand wouldn't slap its badge onto another electric car until the EQ lineup. But that will soon change. The company is reportedly developing multiple EVs on a dedicated architecture, with the first examples set to debut this year.

AMG will reveal two high-performance electric vehicles on its new platform this year: an SUV and a sports sedan. The sports car will reportedly replace the AMG GT 4-Door Coupe in the lineup and draw inspiration from 2022's Vision AMG Concept. Specific details are still under wraps, but Mercedes has let a few things slip about the electric vehicle that should excite enthusiasts.

This is everything we know about the Mercedes-AMG electric sport sedan so far.

The performance sedan will take inspiration from the Vision AMG Concept, which was slightly longer than the current AMG GT 4-Door. Similar proportions should carry over to the production vehicle, according to the teaser images Mercedes has released, but there are some significant changes at the back.

Our rendering attempts to peel back the camouflage and cladding to reveal what this AMG could look like when it debuts, depicting it with a reimagined Panamericana grille, a low nose, and pronounced fenders. The teaser images show the EV with canards on the front bumper and an active rear spoiler.

The rendering doesn't show the car's rear, but the pics AMG released do—and, for better or worse, it lacks the pointed back end of the original concept. The automaker replaced it with a more functional rear-end design, hiding the finer styling details under camouflage and cladding while using fake, Miata-like taillights.

Discerning other design bits is difficult, but it has a short trunk and a familiar silhouette. It should be a practical five-door liftback like its predecessor.

What Will Mercedes Call It?

We don't know what AMG plans to call its new electric sedan just yet, but it’s supposed to replace the clunkily named AMG GT 4-Door. However, we know it won't use the EQ prefix. Mercedes is moving away from that nomenclature and is instead branding its electric vehicles with "EQ Technology" after the model's name. The nomenclature is already in use, debuting last year as the G580 with EQ Technology, but AMG could do something completely unique.
What Platform Will It Ride On?

The Mercedes-AMG four-door electric coupe will ride on the performance brand's new, dedicated AMG.EA architecture. AMG won't share the 800-volt platform with mainstream Mercedes models, keeping the technology exclusive to the brand. It'll have a slimmer battery pack resulting in a roomier cabin while boosting energy density by 40 percent.

The platform will also underpin an AMG SUV with similar performance in a larger package—and even a supercar.
What Will Power It?

The AMG will use new disc-shaped axial-flux electric motors from its British subsidiary Yasa. The company says the motors have an "unparalleled mix of power density, size, and weight" compared to traditional cylindrical radial-flux motors. The motors only weigh 53 pounds and produce 480 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque.

AMG is expected to give its EV at least two of them, which should yield over 1,000 horsepower and 1,000 pound-feet of torque. All-wheel drive will be standard, and a tri-motor configuration with nearly 1,500 horsepower is possible.

When Will It Go on Sale?

AMG hasn't announced an official debut date for the sedan, but we expect a reveal to happen early this year. That likely means the EVs could go on sale sometime by early 2026, although it's unclear if one will arrive before the other or both will reach dealers simultaneously. The automaker is already teasing the two cars, which should indicate the reveal is getting closer.
How Much Will It Cost?

The performance EV will replace the AMG GT 4-Door Coupe, which starts at $113,150 today. The EQS, the brand's flagship electric sedan, is a bit cheaper to start at $105,550, but that's for the entry-level 450+ trim that makes just 355 horsepower, far below the 1,000 horsepower AMG is promising in the sedan and SUV.

The AMG EQS, which makes up to 751 hp, has a $148,700 starting price. AMG's new four-door coupe, which will have new motor and battery technology on a new platform with even more power, could easily surpass $150,000 to start.

What Will It Compete Against?

The electric sedan will compete against other high-performance electric sedans like the Porsche Taycan. The entry-level Porsche costs just over $100,000 but only makes 402 horsepower. It'll also compete against cars like the 1,500-hp Xiaomi SU7 Ultra from China, the Lucid Air, and the Tesla Model S.
Does This Mean AMG V-8s Are Dead?

No. Despite Mercedes-AMG developing the dedicated EV architecture, the brand has promised new V-8 models are in the works. However, the brand is confident its buyers will embrace electrification. AMG CEO Michael Schiebe controversially said last year that customers who flocked to the brand for a V-8 didn't do so just for a big engine. He said they also embraced the brand for the technology put into the vehicles.

"So when it comes to electric driving, I'm pretty sure they will jump into that new technology because it will be the latest and greatest that you can get," he said.

That's an easy fix, it will come in a future update. It's probably due to a dispute with Apple more than anything else. The infotainment is based on Android, you don't Android Auto, this was the case with my former Polestar

Looks good I like it.

It's going to be pretty humbling in the near future when every garden variety SUV can blow my doors off at a stop light lol. I guess I'll just have to get a Model 3 with 700hp in a couple years.

It looks really good in person, I've seen a few of them on the road. They look roomy, and with the current range and access to Tesla superchargers, I think it should do well. Also with 300 + HP and instant torque, it will easily have more than enough power to wipe the smile off most cars on the road 😁

i don't think it's coming. Since it's using Google automotive os, if you logon with same Google account as an Android phone you'll have access to most of same apps and in sync so no need for Android auto. And I think gm has decided Apple CarPlay isn't necessary or their deal with Google means they can't or it isn't worth it.

Maybe, but my Polestar was built on Android Automotive, and they eventually added ACP in an update in late 2022. Took a few more updates to get it working

I believe my daughters Bolt has ACP (she uses Android Auto). Must be a licencing dispute with Apple. I had a friend who was an app developer and he told me Apple was taking a huge cut off his revenues
