You will pay a lot more than $36k to lease a $125k EQS for 3 years.
Actually thats not even that great a deal. For a while in there people were paying $650-850 a month. The lease deals on an EQS are insane, there are like $35,000 in incentives.
you throw around all these numbers that aren't reality.
good luck getting a $125K eqs for $650-850 a month.
they also start at $104K list not $125K.
LOL, I have negotiated and priced these myself. These numbers are reality. I said $125k because thats what the one I priced costs.
A while back people on MB World were getting EQSs for $650-850 per month, Those deals are no longer possible without money down or it being a loaner, but there are still great deals and you can get into a $125k EQS for $1,000 a month all day long.
From MBWorld, this is October 2024:
MSRP 131.320Dealer: I used $14,000 in Star Loyalty Money + $5000.00 in Loyalty Cash which reduced the price to $100,000. In addition, I used the $7500 lease cash from Mercedes Benz to calculate the lease. You Adjusted Cap is $94,194.00. Total Savings = $38,820.00. I used 7% tax because without your exact address I am unable to get the information for you taxes. This is based on driving 12k miles per year.
Payment $992 plus 7% tax. Down payment $1.599 for some fees and stuff plus I have to pay the transportation to FL 1,500. This is a 30% rebate.
Last year I leased a 2023 AMG EQS with a MSRP of $169,900. I paid 0 down and $1,400 a month X 36. 10k miles per year. I’m in Orlando.
Deal included many MB incentives at that time, but $137K MSRP, $94K OTD, 50% residual, $0 down, 36mo, 10K miles/year, sub $900. Brand new last April. Anywhere around $1100 is probably fair in today’s market without those deep incentives. Otherwise I’d wait.
If you browse around Leasehackr, you'll see that some 580's are leasing crazy cheap. In one example, one person got a 24mo, 7500mi/year
lease for $7000 one pay. He also got a pull ahead on his current EQS one pay lease that gave him $3250 back, driving the overall bill down below $4K.
I tried to do that deal. You need to already be leasing one to get the Loyalty credit to get that low of a payment and the car needs to be a loaner. Then it is doable. But I'm sure that deal will be gone starting tomorrow.. But to your point I did have a deal for $629 on a $146.6K loaner at MB of Tampa.
So no, not making it up. Also see above from RXSF...
When you consider I'm paying $1,850 for my S580 @ $140k that pricing is incredible. Buying one makes zero sense.
ok, i'll bite. that's a TERRIBLE lease. the $677 may tantalize, but it's 24 months with $4117 down which amounts to an additional $172/mo., so that's now $849/mo. and it's only 7500 mi. per year.

which was a while back and so you can't get whatever you negotiated back then.

great. since you hate the eqs though it's kinda irrelevant. i assume those people who got those deals like them. loads of caveats in those 'examples', but glad some were able to work out great deals.

And guess what it would be with 15k a year? $1,000 which is what I said lol 36 months would be $900 or so

It was July, and the market has not gotten stronger, its gotten weaker. You're just wrong here, sorry. $1,000 is very easy to achieve on an EQS.

Being wrong sucks, but it happens to all of us from time to time .
But yes, the lease deals are so good that I considered getting one even though I don't like the styling, We're talking with the gas savings $1,100 a month savings over what I have.
The point was the depreciation on these (and most other EVs) is very steep and it’s unpredictable, leading them is much safer
Ive done the math based on my own experiences of buying vs leasing. To me, the cost comes out to be about the same, except that with financing/buying, Im out a good portion for down payment. Id rather lease at this point, and keep my money invested elsewhere. But as others have said, buying an electric car is too risky right now.
I was just looking at 0% in the way that the manufacturer is just giving you a loan for literally nothing. I sometimes wonder if low financing overcomes some of the shortcomings of battery degradation/range. Tesla right now has 0%, Ford .9% Toyota 1.19% for purchased EVs. In my market. I believe in Quebec, the bZ4X is now cheaper to buy with the $12K rebate and is about the same footprint as a Toyota Camry. Is more spacious. And is offered at 1.19%. Seems like a pretty good deal if you want a Toyota…Considering what Toyota wants for a Camry

not for a "$125K" car... you just keep conflating different things.

sorry it's happened to you again, and with such confidence.

agree on this, which is why i leased mine. plus ev's are changing so fast, i likely won't want an 'old one' at the end, although this ioniq feels like it would last a very long time.

Yes with a $125k EQS. I’m not conflating anything. You can easily lease an EQS with an MSRP of around $125k for $1,000 a month. Clear enough?
sorry it's happened to you again, and with such confidence.
We’ve shown you I’m not wrong lol. I gave you like 8 examples on top of the deal I was presented with personally. You can lease an EQS easily for $1,000 a month. You know I know how to negotiate these things you asked me personally to do it for you. Don’t be like our friend who can never admit he’s wrong.
Had to change the two front tires on my daughters Bolt:
I have no idea what she hit, but her rim is also damaged. She doesn't have any recollection of curbing the car or hitting anything, but to damage the tire like that and not remember hitting anything? The only reason I found that damage was her tire pressure had dropped to 29 PSI, so I was looking for a nail or other object, but found the damage instead
