General EV Conversation
I think so as well. Even if I went for the M3P, I would hardly be using Ludicrous mode, which frankly scares me 🤣. I would be driving it 99.9 percent in Normal mode, which is pretty much the same as the M3 LR's Normal mode. And yes, the seats are comfortable, better than my Model Y seats. And at 0 to 60 in 4.2 seconds, I can still be a Red Light bully 😆
To me, for what you are saying, the LR AWD is probably the better choice. And there is always the chance, if you want more speed, that the acceleration boost upgrade would be released in the US. That would get you closer to the M3P, likely for a lot less money. Like I mentioned before, the LR AWD is what my son bought last month. And he got it at a $4000 2024 model year end discount. Brand new with 4 miles on it. Plus the $7500 tax credit and 0% for 36 months. Incredible car for the money. Me and my wife took it for a short trip to a nearby town today. It's the car I think could change a lot of minds about EVs. Even the RWD is in that category. That's what the coworker I referred bought, and he can't stop talking about it. And he wasn't really a car guy, but he is in love with it.
To me, if performance is a top concern, then the M3P doesn't make a lot of sense when you can get a used MS Plaid for about the same money. Maybe a little more. I know some don't like to buy used, but if performance is really a big deal, that's an easy compromise to make in order to get an ICE hypercar killer. M3P is fast, but there are a bunch of ICE cars as fast or faster. They cost more, but not so much that you don't see them everywhere. I see several cars a day that are faster than a M3P. I don't remember seeing anything faster than my Plaid.

When did you get rid of your Polestar @AMIRZA786 ?
I have no issues buying a used Plaid, zero. But I'm not looking for an M3 or M4 Comp killer. I'm looking for a car that is practical, efficient, and you can occasionally have a little fun with. Something you can daily drive, and even sometimes trip with. I think the Model 3 LR fits that bill. The main reason I wanted (still want) the Model 3 Performance is the better seats and adjustable suspension, but those aren't mandatory
Same with a Model S non Plaid, no issues buying a used one. But right now I want either the updated Model 3 or the upcoming Model Y if I decide to wait until July simply because of newer battery and motor tech. The motors on the new Model 3 have been updated to be quieter and more efficient

But my MS LR has all of that, good efficiency, better top speed performance and a lot more luxury than my 21 M3P. It is also a built a lot better and had less problems than M3, both bought new.
Not trying to be snarky, but no, you wouldn't. At least not 0-60. Model 3 LR AWD is 0-60 in 4.2, and Motor Trend got 4.0 even. That's faster than I've seen any uncorked 75D. If the 75D isn't uncorked, it would get smoked.
Now, the LR RWD, you would smoke. But only if your 75D is uncorked.

Edit
Also I was just giving Amirza a hard time about the M3P. I wasn't trying to start some bragging contest even though it may have sounded like that.

I think highland uses same motors as before... it has better aero plus more sound deadening.

As I said earlier, I love the Model S and would buy a used (low mileage) one with no reservations
