No, I paid for it I want it to be done right. I'm taking it back over there Thursday so they can look at it. It just needs to be wetsanded and polished or something so the finish matches the rest of the wheel.

Looks like a very quick polish job... hopefully the texture (well, peel) will be a close match.

Yeah, if they won’t do it right I will just wet sand and polish it myself.

What shop was it and how much was it? Wife just had a slight curb (turned a bit quick and rear got clipped on a curb).

I saw a S class with a mighty V12

had a blemish on the wheel. You shouldn’t feel bad…it will be fine

They polished the wheel up and it looks great. Guy was a jerk about it though, never even looked me in the eye, just a total 180 from his attitude when I first met him. 15 minutes...not sure what his deal was

So, I would recommend the shop but be VERY clear about what you want, and if you have issues just know that they go straight to "you're crazy, our work is perfect".

I don't think that there will be any problem with wheel imbalance, as they probably didn't grind or abrade enough metal off of the wheel in the process of smoothing out the damaged rim to affect the balance. But, just to be sure, observe the steering wheel at cruise-speeds and see and feel if there is any shimmy or noticeable vibration in the structure on a smooth road. If so, the balance might have to be redone...but I'd wager you won't feel any.

Oh no, didnt impact wheel balance at all.

It makes me wonder what BMW did. They replaced the weight so I guess they unmounted the tire to do it. Glad it worked out for you.

Saw a refresh X7 today, I was surprised that I actually thought it looked GREAT in person...makes me wonder what I will think of the new 7 Series

Saw a mint condition 1973 Toyota Celica tonight. Original owner still has it, engine and engine mechanicals are all original. Starter, alternator, and rad are all original. . Only hoses were changed. Owner said that the vehicle did have a recall when new in 1974 and was covered under warranty. Some suspension parts are very hard to source. Shocks are apparently from a Supra. 66,000 miles

longitudinally mounted engine and rear wheel drive
