The only ones I haven't driven are the polestar and EQE, they are the same when you floor it. Some have throttle smoothing and delay or a rising limiter but ultimately it's the same thing once those restrictions lift, those same restrictions are also beyond stupid and ruin the point of a motor type drive system vs an engine
Thats just completely contrary to the experience I have had driving EVs. They all have very distinct throttle mapping and power curves. By your logic any vehicle at WOT would be “the same” just some faster than others.
DEFINITELY PASS. Nothing in that car is going to work.
People bid and bid on these R129s with like 17k miles on them….and then end up spending between 15 and 25 thousand replacing everything. I see it allllll the time. Insanity.
R129s also have killer flared fenders, I had never noticed it in my life until I bought ours.

haven't driven many EVs yet but quickly stabbing the "gas" pedal in a model s 90D from 25 to 65 mph was one of the most giggle inducing driving experiences i've ever had! this was years ago and things have of course improved since but in that car at least i still remember thinking the fun was mostly over once you were up to highway speeds, at which point this could be improved by swapping in a supercharged V8 lol
what excites me about EVs though is that theoretically they can be programmed to feel like any existing gas engine, including things like turbo lag and VTEC... for example take this dyno sheet from a 900 whp single turbo supra:
the car could be programmed so when you floor it the power is delivered in a way that mimics this chart, throw in some augmented audio and you could be "driving a supra"! of course it's still not gonna be exactly the same but i think it'd be a cool idea to have your tesla or whatever (elon's the most likely to actually try this on a whim lol) come loaded with the power deliveries and sounds of other cars to chose from
you and the V12s lol just buy a cheap old S600 already!
also you have to say better for what... you'll notice that the V12 model of something typically isn't much (if at all) faster since they're heavier, one of the reasons mercedes removed the V12 from the CLK LM racer and put their V8 back in
the G65 also had a slower 0-60 than the G63 since it required the old slushy 5-speed when the V8 in the G63 could be paired to the newer 7-speed

A car like that somebody doesn't bid on it for it to be a driver, thats a keep and hold car. One day that car will be worth so much that tha $15-25K they spent replacing everything will be money well spent.

Totally true, and like I said one of the most surprising things about the i7s I drove is that the power delivery feels very similar to my S560.
we once had one of these. This was an amazing vehicle 54k on this one
This one is a beauty. Obsidian black, single stage with no clearcoat by the way. If the wind blew on it it would scratch but they were so easy to polish out...

prestige. pinnacle.

that was definitely the best generation. Very high quality vehicle. The one we had had power third row windows that swung out. Removable third row. The one weird thing we didn’t have, and it was never available was dual heating and air-conditioning at the front.

Have I mentioned I hate Mercedes wiper blades? They skip and chatter, terrible. I replaced the set from 10k miles at 40k miles, $260 for the new blades. I kept the old ones in case the new ones started skipping. Well, they skip like hell. I strip the windshield every wash and make sure its perfectly clean, clean the blades with isopropyl alcohol, and this is how they skip:
Hitting the washers will get you a few minutes of smooth operation. Its been raining like hell here all day and in one day of running around I used a whole gallon of washer fluid. So tonight I scrubbed down the glass again and put the old wipers back on, silence. Bizarre.
Ignore the streaking thats just the humidity collecting when the car is stopped:
That’s too bad. Other manufacturers don’t really use such a system so perhaps there is an inherent design flaw or something. I just like the simple design where you can replace the rubber insert. It has worked for me forever Also the cost to replace the OEM blades is absurd. Really too much
