When I was young and single I rented. It gave me the freedom to easily and quickly relocate, accept promotions and change jobs. When married and starting a family owning a home made more sense but that's a lifestyle choice. Owning a home can be a ball and chain, or it can provide a sense of security and stability. These are dependent on the person/family. At this time in my life renting a condo would be fine.
There is far more to how and where a person lives than the display on a calculator.
This is exactly my point. Your home is only an investment to a point, its your home first. For me as a person the only time I would rent is an apartment in a professional complex. Because I know that I can live there as long as I want. I don't want to be subject to the whims and needs of an independent landlord. Working with those people all the time like I do (I own a residential property management company and we manage individual rental properties) has shown me that. ESPECIALLY in a market where the rents are much lower than the sales values (like the Bay Area) because those owners are always going to be eying a cash out and movement of those assets to a better performing investment.
Agreed that's a great price. Those chrome rims are realllllly sharp.
The owner is probably going to have to replace some wear items since the car hasn't really been driven, but it'll be good as new after. But it could be lots and lots of money, I've seen it a bunch of times. This one guy who found a Silver Arrow with mileage like that put like 18 grand and counting into it that I talked to once.
I would always pick the low mile car since I am going to replace the whole suspension/mounts etc to new anyway, if it was stored inside and the rub was treated then maybe you get lucky and you can run the stock stuff for a while.
