Yeah, they were huge sellers. The styling still looks good.

I like the classics, (442!!!!) don't get me wrong...

But my coming of age was with 80s and 90s Olds. I've mentioned it but we had a 1988 Tornado that was the coolest car ever (for a 6 year old) just everything peak 1980s digital, a couple Bravadas that we all loved, and a tire squealing 3800 powered Silhouette.

I didn’t realize they were that big.

My dad actually sold Oldsmobiles at this time. I was a really little kid but I recall them. Usually he had 88s and 98s as demonstrators; the Cutlasses were hot so not available as much and no need to push them as much.

I really love the 90s 300zx t-top (Z32?). I had a friend w/one and I drove it a bit. Great car. I’d still love to have one; i was actually casually perusing used ads on them a week or two ago (casually, not seriously). Maybe someday.

Those were the last of the majority of RWD cars from GM, everything switched to FWD pretty much moving forward.

Could you store t tops in the trunk in case of rain? I forget. I'd hate to be SOL.

I finally got stormed on and had to emergency stop and put the top up the other day... the rain came out of nowhere and came down hard lol.

those ‘80s Hurst/Olds 442s were so cool. Very, very cool. Like, eye-wateringly cool.

Oh yeah it was a 93 Z32TT tuned with exhaust, upgraded intercoolers, and wheels. That car had such a nice interior compared to my MK4 Supra even though most people liked the Supras interior better. The materials to me were much better with suede like door panels, nicer leather, etc.

Oh jeez, a ZXTT like that is an amazing car. And that’s also something I liked about them - decent interior, very decent.

They have aged better than almost anything (or at least as well) of the period. One of the reasons I admire them. Excellent design all-around; ahead of its time.

Speaking of lovely interiors, this W140 lacks tech but is just stunning. And you know it was built like a brick shythouse.

And like I was saying earlier about the way it was in the old days with S Classes, this could be an S320 or an S500. The only difference was that the 320s had different wood. You got it all, even in the cheapest model... (Not cheap actually, I believe 1997 S320 was close to 70k.) Love the materials of that era, my SL has that same thick *** carpet and nice webbed map holder thingy.

That could almost be my Audi V8. I really like ‘90s era German big-car interiors. Really great combination of restrained visual style and materials. For several years, i needed a car I could spend 5 hours in every Friday night and again Sunday late afternoon/evening. This style really worked for that.

Right. That W140 is all business inside, but it works spectacularly well. I was in these things a lot when they were brand new, from what I remember they were nicer than the current ones. Just a complete GTF outta my way tank that car was.
