General Car Conversation 2025 - Part 2
Roadtrip fuel blog. Filled up this morning. DTE showing 579
Love how BMW adjusts your DTE real time based on current driving conditions. 12 min later DTE still showing 580 miles.
Right after I took this pic and 24 miles later it started descending from 580.
140 miles into the drive hovering around 29mpg
140 miles after refueling still showing 511 miles DTE.
I would 100% buy the B58 again over the twin turbo V8. Great road trip vehicle.
5 passengers plus luggage on board
Nope. 1990 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme Convertible

1993 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme Convertible

Neither has sealed-beam headlights. The "quad beam" in the refresh still takes bulbs (Sylvania 9005/9006 to be exact), and are actually the same units that were used in the 4th-gen Camaro.

Speaking of tires, it's time in the Benz. They're so bad that when cold if I brake hard at speeds where the car is out of balance (60-70) it will shake the whole car every now and then.
I don't care about the money, I'm not thrilled to spend another $2,000 but the car honestly rides like shyt and needs some Michelins and it will ride properly like a GT. It has been three years and the tires to the dealer's credit were new, but pieces of junk. At about 50-60 it gets bad. Of course it's smooth as silk over 100....

My friend who brokers cars swears by the Pilot sports and has spent literally $50,000 on them over the years.
I told him people on here say they're loud, and he says they're even quieter than the Michelin all seasons I put on my LS430... That sounds like sort of a stretch, but he knows his shyt trust me. He's just like us, just a Porsche nut... and I admit I'm starting to like Porsches a lot more than I used to lol. But they're not 8 cylinders and I'm not having that. If I wanted 6 cylinders I'd find an old S/C 3800 car.
Not saying anyone is right or wrong about the tires, just fwiw. There are conflicting opinions. I've known everyone on here for 13 years, and I've known him 30 lol. I believe you guys but I believe him too lol.
I'm gonna get on it fast, I don't want a blow out and to potentially damage a rim. They go for $6-8k a set aftermarket if you can even find legit Silver Arrow wheels. If I ever sold the car which I'll NEVER do I'd find some cheap MB rims and sell the SA ones separately.

Supra comes stock with Pilot super sport. They’re aren’t loud to me
