Athleticism lol. We got our kids in and out of my 911s just fine. It was just easier for us and nicer for them to be in the van. And now we’re seeing it all over again with our grandchildren.
I was being facetious.
When people talk about how difficult it is to put kids in booster seats, I automatically assume they must be in pretty bad shape, no doubt caused by our mostly sedentary lifestyle.

I often drive by a school it's on my route, WHY do people load kids in their minivan on the LEFT SIDE when the vehicle has dual sliding doors. Are they insane?
Just to let you know, I wouldn't touch Mikee Dees with a 20 foot pole. I think the last time I had food there was 10 years ago, and it was either McDonald's or stay hungry, I probably should have just stayed hungry 🤣
It’s all to do with ease of access. Car / SUV doors generally don’t open fully enough to allow unfettered access and it can be more difficult still depending upon the type of car seat, number of car seats and the direction they face. With a van you have much easier access. That can be even more important when only one parent is on duty. Fewer distractions make things safer for everyone.
I know I'm in the minority, but the day that I am in a minivan will be the day that I'm on my way to a graveyard and be permanently 6 feet under.
I just can't stand them 😀.
When my 2 boys were growing up 20 years ago we managed perfectly fine with a 4 door sedan. The trunk was big enough for all the taekwondo gear and the back seats were perfectly fine for the stages from an infant car seat , booster seat to teenager.
I always considered minivans to be overkill for our needs. I could never justify owing a vehicle that I saw as extremely boring, 100% utilitarian, too big (for my family of 4), needlessly wasteful of gas, and above all - UGLY! 😁
As someone who owns a minivan...I agree with you they are boring and ugly and not compelling to an enthusiast. Yet...I have still had 4 of them.
If it were my only vehicle, or my primary vehicle then I would not get a minivan, I would get an SUV and deal with the tradeoff of less capability and ease of use for the better style and more enjoyable vehicle. But, as a family vehicle that I only have to drive on trips and when using all of the seats or space, they cannot be beat. Sure we could "get by" with a different vehicle but it would make our lives more difficult. Since I still have my car that I love and enjoy, why do that?
There is no way the 4 of us could travel in a sedan, with the dog and all our stuff. This is what the van looked like packed up and headed home from the beach last year:
the buzz looks great but it's a dud due to range. i mean if you have a vehicle like that you're probably going to want to take trips in it.
Yeah thats the killer for us. My wife LOVES it and would love to have one, but I would need to get a 3 row GLS or Range Rover or something for us to drive on trips.
