I've been seeing a lot more Lyriq's around my area. Dealers are really trying to move them

I just followed the link. Nowhere does it mention Buick, but in the graphic.

More EV trouble for Ford

https://www.reuters.com/business/aut...ks-2024-10-31/

Oct 31 (Reuters) - Ford Motor will halt production of its F-150 Lightning electric vehicle pickup trucks for six weeks from Nov. 18 to Jan. 6, the Dearborn automaker said on Thursday.
Ford's U.S. plants are closed for a holiday week in December.

"We continue to adjust production for an optimal mix of sales growth and profitability," a Ford spokesperson said.

Ford has been scaling back its EV plans, saying in August it was killing a planned three-row electric SUV and pushing back a new electric version of its best-selling F-150 pickup.
The company has instead thrown more investment into hybrid vehicles, which combine an electric motor with a gasoline engine.

Ford said this month its Ford-brand U.S. EV sales are up 45% this year and sales of F-150 Lightning more than doubled to 7,100 in the three months ending Sept. 30 - thought they still represent just 3.6% of all F-Series pickup sales.

The company in April cut production of the F-150 Lightning to one shift after it announced in October 2023 it would temporarily cut one of three shifts at its Michigan plant.

I think that chart is all brand growth/contraction, for all vehicles. Several other brands don't have any EVs either. Acura literally just introduced their first one, and their volume is down 15% year over year? They definitely did not sell more ZDX's in 2023 than they have in 2024.

Buick doesn't even have an EV, their upcoming is an Electra E5 which will be sold in China, so not sure why Buick is even in the graphic

I see a ton of Mach-E's, but I haven't seen that many Lightnings. I did see one yesterday when I was coming back from South SF

perhaps Ford should just cancel it. I do see a few of them here and there where I am. But it’s priced way too high. Ford has been offering 0% financing for sometime now

Got my door seals today. Will probably install them this weekend. That expensive set I posted went on sale so I got it, mainly because of the 3m adhesive on the back. Read several reviews for the cheaper kits and there were complaints about them not sticking. I will give a review when I get them installed.

Tons of products have 3M printed on the wax paper backing 90% of the time it's not 3M at all. Hopefully not the case for you.

I know, but they advertise 3M and it says 3M on the back, so I figured that was my best shot.

Ford to halt production of electric F-150 Lightning until 2025

  • Ford plans to halt production of the F-150 Lightning from mid-November until early January to address high inventories and narrow losses.
  • The shutdown will last from Nov. 18 until Jan. 6, including previously planned holiday downtime at the end of the year.
  • Ford on Monday said its Model e electric vehicle operations are expected to lose about $5 billion this year.

Plus, I'm going to try to take my time and do it right. Clean the contact areas with Dawn and then go over them with a clay bar. Also heat up the surface and the seal adhesive right before installing. If they don't stick after that, then I'm probably just gonna remove and discard.

Maybe Cybertruck is taking a bite out of Lightning sales. Tesla now has the top 3 selling EVs in the US.

Do you guys believe that tires impact your battery efficiency/range? I put new front tires on about 2-3 weeks ago (doing rear in about 2 weeks) and I think my range is not as good as before replacing them. I can't make sense of it, and perhaps I'm wrong. But I do the same route to/from my kids' school and I'm noticing when I get home I'm about 1-2% lower than what I was for the prior 18 months of doing the same exact route. Obviously it's not a substantial difference, I'm more just asking out of curiosity. In a Tesla, is there a way to see how my efficiency has changed over time? If so I could look at the month or so leading into the tire change and then compare that to after the tire change to know for sure.
