Are you using it on your Ioniq5? After reading so many 12V battery issues from Ioniq5 owners I'm anxious to attach any peripherals that might pull power excessively. I'm still thinking if I should install a dashcam or not.
There's actually a recall on the 12V battery issue, I have letter from Hyundai that should be coming in the mail today (the USPS scans and sends to my email mail that is coming in). This will be the 4th recall, although like the other three, it's thankfully software
that’s not the world we live in. If you make that cord 100 feet, someone will plug it in 50 car spots away lol
I haven't seen that to be true. I've been in this office for almost 4 years and walked in and out that door every day and this is the first time anything like this has happened. The cord is plenty long to reach the plug on any car as long as the part of the car that has the plug is whats pointed closest to the charger.
On top of how rude this was...its also damaging to the charger.

Yep that's a concern of mine too, some stay powered up. I had one for my previous car and while it worked OK most of the time, when it didn't it was a PITA. The most common issue was my wife and I both drive the I5 (and prior car it replaced) for most all our in town daily driving, and using two different phones to connect to the wireless carplay dongle was always problematic requiring multiple steps to re-setup and connect to a different phone. Also often slow to connect - she'd complain she was most of the way to the gym in the morning before it synced up.

We've had the Ioniq 5 since July 2023, now has almost 18k on it, haven't had any issues. Zero. My wife, son and daughter always connect their phones, both BT and USB with no issues. My son once connected his laptop which uses usb-c. Of course BT one at a time
My office has a back door that has 3 EV charging spots in front of it. This moron backs in when his charge plug in above the driver side front wheel and proceeds to stretch his charging cable all the way across the roof of his car blocking access to my door. You can still squeeze by on the drivers side. Apparently he didnt want anybody doing that so he put a big note on his windshield that says "DO NOT ACCESS XXX OFFICE".
So, I unplugged his car and wrote on the back of his note "DO NOT BLOCK ACCESS TO MY OFFICE"
Best thing? Its not even an EV its just a PHEV.
🔌 need love too!! Glad mine locks once it plugs in. He/she needs to activate that same option.
I haven't used an adapter to Wireless-ify CarPlay, but AAwireless has worked fantastic for Android Auto for years. I've only ever had three issues with it:
1) When the person whose phone you're going to use is NOT the first one in the car, switching used to be a pain. There's a device priority list that didn't really work well, but they addressed this with a "take over" button in newer versions of the companion app. The 2nd generation device also has a physical button on the dongle to do this.
2) Android Auto very rarely crashing and restarting. Not the fault of the dongle, as it happens slightly more frequently when using a wired connection in rental cars.
3) Every time I get out, the car says "Your cell phone is still in the vehicle". Which makes sense, because as far as it can tell I left it plugged in to the center console. I just ignore this.
Other than that, works great every time. AA usually becomes available within about 10 seconds of the Infotainment screen powering up.
