Our turbo isn’t small just research compressor/exducer sizes. I can turn the bms all the way up to 25psi and it’ll do it but it still will only make so much power because of the fuel ratio, I’ll post a video later. The only reason the turbo appears to run out of power is because of the lack of tuning. I hope everyone realizes TTI isn’t a maxed out tune but rather a very safe reliable tune. Realistically any turbo runs out of power after about 4-5k rpm however because we have a twinscroll turbo it should push boost much better than that civic type r manifold integrated single scroll turbo.
@loophole35 You couldn’t be more correct holding 18-19psi at 6k rpm with our 10.1 c/r should definitely produce 300whp. While a 10th gen fk8 at a 9.8.1 compression needs to push 20psi just to hit 300whp. We might have a type r sniper

It may not be the compressor side that’s the problem. If the turbine side is too small or has too low or too many fins/vanes it can choke at higher RPMs. It happened with the greddy turbo kits for the S2000’s and RSX’s. They used TZ based units that were developed for SR20’s and the heads for the k20/f20/22 all flow much better than the SR20. They would boost very quick the fall off very similar.

That’s what I meant by exducer. The turbine (exhaust) isn’t small either, it’s the right size. Ill break it down in lamest terms. Our compressor (intake) wheel : 40.00 / 54.05 (6+6 blade) Our turbine (exhaust) wheel : inlet 41.22 / outlet 48.86 (8 blade). Take this information and compare it to other oem turbos, not aftermarkets. Also interesting to know we have the exact same bore and stroke as the type r fk8 however we have a higher engine compression ratio which means we make more power per psi

This is kinda what I expect our turbo to do with a tune/downpipe/93oct. You can’t help the torque drop in the higher rpm unless you modify the turbo but you’ll still see the same problem, while you’ll see a slight power bump the torque will always drop in the higher rpm expecially with single turbo platforms. Atleast we have the twin scroll which holds boost much better than most other turbos. Our twin scroll will peak and hold a solid curve at 3-4.5k. While single scrolls peak at 2-2.5k and drop from there. The twin scrolls help with efficiency but it’s also a performance upgrade much better than single scrolls. I knew that when I bought it. Fk8 10th gen kids would drool for a twin scroll. Also I might be mistaken but it looks like the black line on the dyno shows that for this particular dyno run they peaked 19.2 psi(290wtq)/avg16.3/held15.3(262whp), which seems accurate with an aggressive engine. I’d love to see it peak 22 and have it hold 18 however I think anything above 20psi we probably need higher than 93 oct, more like 95/96 oct or e85 to stay safe.

And it's available https://www.ovtuned.com/collections/...t-is200t-turbo $959 which is a little over what I had hoped for but honestly they can charge that because they are the only ones to offer this type of product.

What mods have to be done to run e85?

It is a bit steep. Very interesting product, definitely a game changer since you can edit the tune as much as you want. The custom dyno tune is going to cost me around $500 with dyno rental fees.

You can run a E85/93oct mixture for higher boost levels, but expect with constant use you might be changing spark plugs on the regular ($20-25 per plug).

So even stock motor/ecu? Or will that just end up throwing it into limp mode cause of the factory 12psi limit?

More than likely like sheddy says you’ll have to change spark plugs regularly unless you find aftermark spark plugs meant for the job. You might also have to swap/add fuel sensors for full e85 and most likely fuel injectors. When running an e85 tune ethanol burns much quicker than gasoline and requires more fuel spray so if we only have 250cc injectors but it sprays 500cc then we need 500-750cc injectors. This is what we need TTI to test

So the mix would be e15? Or is that e20?

Looks like I hit about 19.5psi in 1st at around 3.3k rpm. I figure that’s atleast good for 290+ wtq
