One modern BMW that had unusually weak AC was the E90 3-series, which is weird because I owned a E46 3-series and it was perfectly fine. There were a lot of forum complaints about it back in the day. It's actually what caused me to buy a E60 535i at the time.
Haven't noticed that in the 12 years I've had mine. Works exactly the same as my previous E46, except of course for being dual zone.
It is high quality. All surfaces are soft-touch with nice buttons and attention to detail.
Yes, it has a cassette player, which I think is pretty neat. I highly doubt I will ever hook up a phone to the car, but if I do I'm covered.
lol. I use my mine to connect to my old iPhone 6S with the aux port. This way I can listen to my podcasts and shows. I have a little Dolby button and you can toggle it off and on and you can here the noise reduction
Best LS IMO is the 98-00 LS400. Nothing I have had has surpassed that car in outright quality, ride and drive balance and quality, including the 04 LS430. LS430 was boatier and without the UL package the interior had several areas which were downgrades in quality. LS460L drove as well but wasn’t built as well by a mile and the engine wasn’t as refined. S560 is close but not quite there. My guess is nothing I will have will surpass that car as they just don’t make cars like that anymore. Car was built for the ages.

All of them have it. I’m going to try and hold on for the refresh and see if they adopt the “super screen” like the new E Class. My lease goes to November 2024 and the refresh should be a 2025.
looks like a great fit for you.
Dont like the 4 cyl but it is what it is. I have pretty much decided that if I can’t get my wife to do an SUV this time we’re going to buy the Pacifica and keep it.
This to me has a lot of the butch looks of the BOF SUVs…
@xjokerz yes you should get 17 inch wheels for your RX. Those aftermarket wheels on it now look like they came from a 90s car. So some OEM 17s would be an upgrade and give more cushion from the road.

exactly, they're all doing it, because i guess their market research tells them that people want to look like they're going on an off road adventure when going to the mcdonald's drive thru.

People like stylish cars. No different than making a car that isn’t luxurious look luxurious. Your SantaFe is a great example of that, Hyundai works hard to make their cars look like luxury cars when they aren’t.
That looks great to me as well. I think we are in similar boats as far as what we're looking for in the next vehicle primarily driven by our wives and we both have twins and dog(s). I just packed our LX up - 1 big suitcase, 1 carry on suitcase, 2 sets of golf clubs, a couple of coolers, some other miscellaneous stuff and I continue to hate that the LX just doesn't have a ton of space due to the jump seats killing a lot of usable cargo space. My inclination is always Tahoe, but I do wonder if that would be cumbersome as a daily and I just can't bring myself to pay what they're fetching (new and lightly used). This redesign could be the best blend. My wife loves Tahoes/Yukons, I'll have to see how she feels about this. What do you think about the engine? Turbo 4?

there's stylish and there's trying to make every car look like it's meant to compete in a rally or drive through a jungle.

I agree with this 100% (minus how it compares to an S560 as I've never owned one). But I had a 98 LS400, 04 LS430, and 10 LS460L. The 98 is the king. I still look online for 98-00 and swear one day I'm going to buy one, even though I have no clue where I'd park it. I just want to re-experience it for a handful of months. That car was phenomenal and peak Lexus.

My opinion is there is an aspect of "stylish" that needs to appeal to those looking for a more rugged appearance in a crossover. My personal hesitation with vehicles like the Palisade/Telluride, Infiniti QX60, Grand Highlander, etc. is I want something that is a bit more masculine (for lack of better word). I'm sacrificing on ride height, which in itself gives something a more imposing look... so I am looking for something with a certain appearance that still makes me want to own and drive it. By looks of this redesign, in particular the Z71, seems to check some boxes for me if I could "live with myself" for stepping down from considering a Tahoe. I believe this will be a good recipe for GM and if I could get this for somewhere under $60k brand new I'd view it as a homerun.
Edit: an absolute must for me is 2nd row captain chairs. I certainly hope this has that. And that digital dash in the above link looks awesome. Blends over to the screen kind of like the Escalade design.
