It absolutely does look like the J30, those Ioniqs are very impressive in person
My wife saw it from the side and the back driving past us in a parking lot and said, "When did Hyundai's start looking like Porsches?" I don't think it's THAT attractive, in certain angles I think it's odd looking. But it does look cool from the back IMO, especially in person.
The Infiniti G20 was not a Sentra rebadge. It was a Primera, which was designed primarily for the European market to compete with the Passat and Opel Vectra. Also the M30 was a Nissan Leopard in JDM. M35=Fuga, Q45 = Cima, President, J30 was a Leopard sedan, G35 = Skyline sedan. I think the FX was bespoke to the Infiniti brand and only sold in America and Europe.
They were 50/50 in those early days. The I, QX4, and first-gen G were all badge-engineered from the Maxima, Pathfinder, and Sentra respectively. But the M, J, and Q were all bespoke, along with the later FX and 2nd gen G. The first-gen M even had the only convertible among any of the Japanese luxury brands of the day.

Wow, I would absolutely love to have something like this. An old Defender that has been restored, updated, painted a cool color, and added the beautiful touch of what I assume is teak wood. Dream recreational vehicle for me.
