GM is the undisputed king of air conditioning IMHO.
Also the only cooled seats I’ve ever actually felt at all, that actually blow cold air and work were in a GM product. They’re useless in both Lexuses.
The downside is (at least in the Tahoe/Suburban where I've had them) they give 2nd degree burns to the knees of anyone sitting in the 2nd row.
The method by which they cool you is called a Peltier cooler. This is a plate that gets hot on one side and cold on the other. Fans are used to cool the front seat occupant by blowing across the cold side. Heat from the other side is vented through holes in the middle of the seatback, exactly at knee height.
Modern BMWs and MBs' AC are fine imo. Speaking of German cars, I was behind my neighbor's black S580 the other day. It definitely grew on me. I see him quite often but never felt this way. Very nice and classy IMO.

Its grown on me too, it’s very classy. Very sleek but still traditional looking.
One modern BMW that had unusually weak AC was the E90 3-series, which is weird because I owned a E46 3-series and it was perfectly fine. There were a lot of forum complaints about it back in the day. It's actually what caused me to buy a E60 535i at the time.
Got the car washed. It's slowly starting to grow on me. I figured I would have replaced it with a sedan by now, but I don't know. It's just so clean and nice. That interior wood color is very unique.
Man, what happened to simpler times? To go from this to what we have now, I mean look at this grille:
Going to address the fogged headlight cover at some point. Oil gets changed tomorrow and I'll probably look into some other maintenance. If I end up keeping this, I'm really leaning towards 17 inch wheels for even more ride comfort. All in all, 185k miles and it is in fantastic shape.

yes, current s-class is a beautiful design outside. not a huge fan of the ski slope screen inside on some of 'em.
Snapped a pic of Ole Faithful today at the barber.
Facelifted 430s have aged like fine wine. Still plennnnty bossy.
If I found one in that condition, I would seriously consider it. Lots of Lexus folks have said it’s the best LS they ever made. My car is not fast, but an LS430 blasted by me over the weekend. He was behind me in the #2 lane (I avoid driving in the passing lane so it can be used as…a passing lane) and he punched it. The car obviously had some decent shove.

I personally consider it the best LS. And yes, they have very good acceleration and great torque even if they're slow by luxury car standards today. There's a tiger under the hood that springs to life when you boot it. Nice long highway legs.
