I know this guy who also had a tiny car for daily drive. I think you two have the same profession too. That's right. Treat all your children the same way, right? I find it interesting that you have all these time to do these but find it costly to get gas at Costco. I guess because you can enjoy this task but not the other one? I've got tired cleaning the SUVs myself and often just drive through these days because this one near my house actually does a good job. Once in a while I would take the pressure washer out and waste a few hours there.
I really don’t enjoy washing my cars but I don’t like a dirty car even more. Also I would love to have a monthly car wash plan but I don’t trust them or even a dealer to wash my car. I also figure door to door it would take me longer to go there and come home than the half hour I take to wash it myself. I will say the Scion was so small it didn’t take long to wash.
Luckily you don’t have to drive the ES with the 4.
ha, well the lexus es comes with NA 4 (or NA 6).
I would still take the ES.
ha, not surprising. and no doubt the V6 is a lot smoother.
but...
35k for sonata limited (loaded)
43k for es 350 base
48k for es 350 luxury - to get things like power folding mirrors, wireless phone charger and other expected things.
so that's a huge price difference.
it's interesting that the ES 4 cyl only comes in AWD but the 6 cyl comes in either.

Thats not correct. You cannot get the ES with the 6 in AWD nor can you get the 4 in FWD. The 4 is only available with the AWD. All FWD ESs are hybrids or the V6.
The Sonata is cheaper, and it won’t ride as well or be as quiet, nor will it feel as refined, nor does it have as good a warranty, will it have as good a dealer experience, it has no brand prestige nor does it have Lexus dealer service, and it’s smaller. So, yeah you get less and pay less.

i did write 4 cyl es only comes in awd. but yes, very interesting the 6 isn't available in awd, i missed that.

Toyota says the packaging is impossible with the 6 and AWD but I find that hard to believe. AWD and the 6 would make the ES a much more compelling car
Why dispute the word of engineers? They know if they can adequately fit in the needed AWD hardware with a V6 and automatic. This is not a Subaru Symmetrical AWD layout that is ingeniously simple by AWD standards.
