My inclination is always Tahoe, but I do wonder if that would be cumbersome as a daily and I just can't bring myself to pay what they're fetching (new and lightly used). This redesign could be the best blend. My wife loves Tahoes/Yukons, I'll have to see how she feels about this. What do you think about the engine? Turbo 4?
I would love a Tahoe/Yukon but it would be really tight in my garage, and my wife wouldn’t want to haul something like that around d all the time.

Don’t love the Turbo 4 but it is what it is.

Its just the style people want. I don’t see the issue.

I still look online for 98-00 and swear one day I'm going to buy one, even though I have no clue where I'd park it. I just want to re-experience it for a handful of months. That car was phenomenal and peak Lexus.
Yeah I have also considered buying one when nice ones come up!

I can't get our LX in the garage alongside the Tesla, so whatever I buy is going to live outside regardless.

Should we take the Traverse talk to the appopriate thread? I also love the butch looks. Makes it an easy buy over other crossovers.

Yeah it seemed fine for some. I got a litany of loaners during that time period (thanks N54!) and had the same complaint with all of them.

it's not an issue for those who want or like the style. it is for those who don't.
i also believe in the power of *leading* the market. car companies promote 'lifestyle' / aspirational vehicles even if completely non-aligned to what people ACTUALLY do.
the 'fake rugged' style all over now is partly due to the rise of subaru i'd say and the ongoing popularity of jeep, even when i'd bet 99% NEVER see any off roading except for parking in a flat field at their kids ball game.

Thats life. You can’t please everyone. They design vehicles to appeal to the broadest market and clearly the broadest market wants that type of style.

They drive much smaller than they are, as you probably know. The garage is an issue with the new one but it fits, just barely. It is annoying but you get used to it.

Just an idea, maybe leave LX outside? It has heavy duty paint. We leave ours outside. If any vehicle is gonna live outside and live its best life too, it’s a Land Cruiser

What if they ran out of gas or dead battery? Not saying a Lexus can’t break down, but here we don’t know what happened.

Maybe the setup is different with the M57 diesel than the petrol models. My G80's AC doesn't seem to work dramatically better than it either, so I've had a pretty consistent experience across 3 of the 4 most recent generations.

Of course no one knows. But why would you be walking around the car or be on a flat bed for gas/battery?

My 2007 RX 350 had to be towed to repair when the oil cooler hose burst. And dumped oil out the engine. Engine wasn’t harmed and I continued to drive it another 6 years. So it happens

For the non rugged ruggedized CUVs and mini SUVs, how does one decide whether the Thule roof rack or the Dakine roof rack is cooler, should an adventure break out on the way to Starbucks.

Speaking of 98-00 LS400s:

People complain about the stock rims but I think they look great. One thing that is indisputably better about LS430s is the wood, there must be 2-3xs the amount that’s in the 400.
