I think the plastic looking cupholders on the new S class look chintzy. could be a nicer grade or work on it a little better. Otherwise a nice interior as always
They do, thats a weak point. The cupholders in the back seat of my S Class are weird too, wouldn't call them cheap, but weird.
a good review. Not everything is so loved. Rear cupholders are optional
Just watched the review. Not a terrible looking car but not great either. From the side profile, the front and rear look too similar that it just looks frumpy. I really like the interior and the technology in the car. Not a bad luxury EV.
I was driving by one of these 580 4matic. I had a good drive on free way and local streets to see this thing from different angles. Wow someone paid 125,900+ for this thing? Not sure what's inside that would make it worth it but definitely not the outside. Something very odd about this design.
Mercedes sold 2,091 EQS models in Q1 and 4,817 S-class models in Q1 2022. That's a good start. We'll see how things look a year from now with increased competition.
I finally saw my first EQS in the wild and I didn't think it looked that bad. Sure it looked a little like a jelly bean but it wasn't hideous like I thought in the pictures although it was black so it could hide some of the ugliness which black tends to do.

I've probably now seen 5 or 6 in the wild, and they don't look bad to me in the flesh. I don't like them in white though
When I buy a $120,000 car, I don't want "it doesn't look that bad" to describe how it looks lol
I saw two new S class models last week. DT. The design is just right. Defacto luxury sedan flagship. But have seen the EQS in the wild too….it’s a mistake (and won’t sell as well as people think it will). Only thing EQS has going for it is that it is a EV

Yeah the W223 has really grown on me, I think they look great.
I look at the EQS as what it really is, which is a test bed EV platform for Mercedes. They will fine tune it and get it right, and we will see a full EV S Class, and/or the future redesigns of the EQS will bring in more traditional MB sedan charachter and they will get it right.
I can't see BUYING one of these knowing all that to be true.
I turn around and look at my S560 all the time when I walk away from it, THAT you need when spending this kind of money on a car.
