Mercedes EQS flagship

After seeing the E-Tron GT, this doesn't impress at all. If anything, it looks like a bigger version of a decade-old Sonata.

as is obvious, EVs (and all cars) are all about aerodynamic efficiency, and that EQS shape looks very slippery. i think it will be awesome when released.
yes, basic shapes are similar across all brands these days, but there's still countless details in lighting, trim, curves/recesses, wheels, glass, and of course, the interior.
nice cheap shot, but the mercedes is obviously way more sleek, lower hood, etc.

I understand the compromises in the shape were done for the primary sake of enhancing cabin space to flagship levels, which is something that the Model S/Taycan/E-Tron don't possess. But there are certainly prettier ways to go about it then this egg-shaped FWD thing.
Exciting times ahead for the EV landscape! Definitely looking forward to the "S-class" of EV's!!! It looks very promising so far.

Part of the challenge with Tesla at this stage in their "lifecycle" is that they need to focus all their available resources/time on making cars that they can sell a lot more of - Model 3 and Model Y and a rumoured upcoming smaller car than the 3 in China so that they can become a viable long term mainstream auto manufacturer. Hence why they are not/cannot do too much with the S and X for now in terms of a grounds up refresh.
On the plus side however, they still have a leg up on the competition when it comes to taking trips. That advantage will also erode in the coming years with the proliferation of companies like ElectrifyAmerica etc.
Even when other manufacturers have all the important tick boxes checked, I still think that Tesla will not focus on the S and X for some time, as they have a few other "teething" challenges to resolve - hit and miss service experience, body assembly quality control - these will become even more important as the competition catches up on the EV magic bullet - the combination of drivetrain/motor efficiency/battery range that Tesla is leading now.
I'm so happy to be alive and healthy in this day and age of EV's!!!!

You quoted me from July 2019. I think a lot has changed since then. My comment was in regards to the EQS / XJ EV then but here we are two years later and neither are a factor. Meanwhile the Model S is receiving a significant evolution very very soon. The S and X will still be their halo vehicles, but they're wise to focus on 3, Y, a smaller car for China/Europe, and a pickup for the masses.

The rooflines and side profile are almost identical, as well as the massive front overhang and stubby rear end. Both even possess the same tiny windows. The only major difference is that the wheelbase is longer. Otherwise, it has proportions befitting a bulbous FWD compact or midsize sedan, not a flagship EV.

(much back and forth deleted) please stop being obnoxious or exit the thread. the channel of the video is MERCEDES BENZ.

I absolutely love the interior and especially that dashboard. Now, I have yet to see the exterior. Judging from the EQC, the fascia will likely differ from the gas cars, and not in a good way to me. The EQC doesn't look too bad but I still prefer the real grille and the fascia that comes with it on gas models. However, the side profile looks very elegant.
im not sure what the point is for the passenger screen. Impressive that this hasn't been done before but not particularly useful. curious to see what the standard vertical screen will look like.
