Does CNET have a legit pay to view product (in print as well) or is it all free? If not, they are meaningless and just a tech site.....it serves their best interest to like the new EQS..as it means eyeballs which means revenues.
Funny you think print magazines are any better these days. Even the print magazines have shifted to having more content online vs. print. Car and Driver isn’t even making magazines every month.

new approaches are coming about though... i posted the TFL review of the model s plaid in that thread which was different because it was the TFL guy interviewing an OWNER of the car, asking all sorts of in depth questions. This to me is more meaningful than a 'media' review of any kind. Oh and the rapidly dying print media still needs 'eyeballs'
Doug is the pickiest reviewer I've ever watched. If he loves it, it must be special
Of course Doug or any other reviewer would love driving it, because it's a high-end Mercedes product that they don't have to spend a dime on. But they aren't the ones deciding between whether to buy this over an S-Class with their own money, which is where the EQS must prove itself in sales.

It's way over priced IMO, but Im positive that it will sell well despite the "interesting" design
With the caveat that everybody thinks its ugly, and that it will be seriously held back by its styling
I do think that car in his review looks way better than other specs I've seen. That color is good for it, hides its weird seams and all, and those wheels are the best looking set on it I've seen
You get my point though "PCMag" is not a publication geared to car enthusiasts. Its like having a review of the car in Better Homes and Gardens Consumer Reports.

Not feeling this colour and pic. The mirrors stick out like sore thumb and look awful here. Still haven't seen it in person..so waiting for a final judgement
a good review. Not everything is so loved. Rear cupholders are optional
glad you've found this reviewer, i'm a new fan. he's hilarious, smart, and informative
all: at 11:00 he actually shows under the secret hood, ha. looks to me like they could have made a small frunk under there.
as for no rear cupholders on this press car, i'm wondering if that's a pre-production car issue, seems incredible otherwise not to have them on a car this expensive!
i like at one point that he says the range is impressive but similar to a kia e-soul which he shows and looks laughably crude/boxy in comparison

anyway, good objective review!
Yeah. It is refreshing to hear some not-so-perfect things about an EV for once.
I think the plastic looking cupholders on the new S class look chintzy. could be a nicer grade or work on it a little better. Otherwise a nice interior as always
