Mercedes EQS flagship
Try $2,500 a month lol
No way you can lease one of those for $1,500 a month, unfortunately. Markups, no lease deals…
S580 right now is $2,000+ a month too.
Hopefully that changes by the time I need to replace mine, or it will be one and done for the S Class for me lol
As for aerodynamics, the W223 is .22 cD, which is amazing. They can get great aerodynamics with better looks.

All the leasing deals are gone for now. One of my friends bought a preconfigured 2022 Polestar 2 and opted not to get the 2023 with more range and power because the lease doubled. My lease is currently $520 a month, his is $540, if he leased the 2023 it would have been double! That's just insane
I think you have folks who buy it because it’s different looking and the EV platform. BUT, you aren’t likely to win over conservative buyers like me until you can a car that is more typically attractive. It will come.

I believe so. People will speak with their wallets. Plus the design will evolve from the experimental phase that's geared towards early adopters
Why aren't other EV's which have very good aerodynamics (Model S, Taycan, E-tron GT) , look beautiful (not blob like) ?
Very good aerodynamics are a benefit for any type of car, not just an EV.
Have you seen the Hyundai Ioniq 5? There are a TON around here, its not styled like a blob at all...its cD is .288 which is WAY higher than these other even no EV sedans.
Blob styling is not required.
You get a new car vs a used car. You will always pay way more for the same car new.
The W223 is a .22 cD Tesla Model S is .21 The EQS does not have to look like it does to have great Aerodynamics and a great range. The styling of the EQS was a choice by Mercedes. They will develop EVs with more traditional Mercedes sedan design cues. Even with the blob styling EQS range is not a leader at all.

So are you saying that a very aerodynamic car has to be styled like the EQS - the blob look? Or is that the "modern" look?

It's actually pretty easy to give a car a decent drag coefficient, just lower it, give it flat door handles, smaller side mirrors, and a sloped back- that's all it takes. Turning the car into a jellybean is a conscious design choice.
EQS is selling in the U.S. decently for what it is, its Q1 sales were half of the ICE S-Class, and I'm assuming that's supply constrained. But in China I bet its sales are at least double what it is here.

The entire auto industry will collapse. The majority of consumer will reject these EQS style designs
