General EV Conversation
Mandatory "how do these things still happen" question. Same with the ioniq 5's (hopefully only the 5, not the 6 or the genesis models) onboard charger... cracking the alu casing somehow reportedly?!?!??!?!?!??!!
Anyways.
Re: looks - Teslas look just fine on the outside, except for the
Just for grins I just plugged my trip to WV into ABRP using the i7 60 and it tells me I have to stop in Staunton and charge for 42 minutes to get there with 10% SoC, yeah not relaxing yet lol. I could get there in 2/3rds of a tank in the S560.
I do want to drive the 750ie PHEV

Speaking of Lucid how is this company still in business? Their sales are actually going down, they had to cut production 50% on reduced demand. They have over 200 days of inventory. Go to page 12, they are losing money hand over fist

Going back about 3 years they guided for 60,000 cars in 2023 they sold 10% of that. Scary thing is Lucid spends millions on advertising is it helping?

To answer your other question.... Saudi money. Until it dries up, Lucid will continue on
The ones built into the vehicles do. Both my Tesla and Polestar are spot on, maybe + or minus 1 or 2 percent. Haven't taken our Ioniq 5 on a trip, so don't know how accurate that trip planner is
The ones built into cars do and A Better Route Planner does too. That’s about 10 minutes longer charging than it was saying for the same trip in the summer, needs to charge to 88% vs like 75%
This guy is an extreme case and probably lives in an area where there is no competition. On average, I pay 0.33 cents per kWh on trips, and because of the excellent mileage I get, I pay less than half of what I would if I took my gas car.
That being said, if you don't have the ability to charge at home, it's probably better to get a hybrid if fuel costs are your biggest concern

Would you pay more to charge than you would pay in gas even if you had a more efficient gas car?
Crap, that's cheap 😕. In California, gas is pretty expensive, especially on travel routes where it reaches almost $6 a gallon. Factor in most EV'S getting anywhere from 90 MPGe to over a 100 MPGe, and you spend about 50 percent less charging. When you charge at home, it's like 3 X less
The EV gives a great driving experience too which is worth something.

That’s discouraging. Then once you arrive you have to charge for however long if you want to do a little driving around.
