Its actually pretty unusual. I actually can't think of anybody I know who has an EV and has gone back to a gas car...all the time I spend on forums too you rarely see that. The industry stat is only 26% go back to gas cars.
The article was bull****... To get to that outcome, you broadly had to exclude Tesla from the analysis.
"The easy headline is: "3 out of 4 Luxury EV Households Stick with EVs for Next Vehicle." But remove Tesla's industry-leading loyalty numbers from the equation, and the percentage for the rest of the industry falls off sharply. That could pose a problem for legacy automakers getting people to like — and stay loyal to — electric vehicles."
With all due respect, I'm not sure why you post here. You have no interest in EV'S, you've made up you're mind that you don't like them, you don't want to learn anything about them from legit owners, you just seem to try and put them in the worst light you can find, and you justify your view by posting the most questionable articles on the Internet. Lastly, you seem to just come here to create conflict. I'm not sure why the mods aren't picking up on this, but I guess maybe you've learned how to stay within the boundaries. I'm pretty sure if I did what you do in Car Chat, there would be a lot of pissed off members. I'm not pissed off, but I'm just wondering what you are trying to accomplish

I highly question how anyone could drive a Tesla then trade it for something like a Toyota hybrid you're going back 15+ years in technology the experience just plain sucks. A 2024 Toyota has infotainment from the stone ages.
I'm about the biggest Toyota fanboy ever but look at this, ugh.
I think sticking everything into a screen is not a good idea, and a safety issue. Many people (perhaps most, and I know quite a few car reviewers like savagegeese) still prefer having buttons.
I also have a Lexus car, and as far as I can see the interior is better or at least as good as any other car out there. And so far, I think the touchscreen and software on it is great. A nice mixture of physical controls and screen

First of all, I drive an EV (PHEV), and LOVE it. I have also driven another EV (HEV) for almost 15 years now. I also LOVE it. I may own a BEV in future, but that will depend on how the situation develops. So yes, I am here because I am into EV cars. In fact, I probably will never buy a pure ICE in future, as I know how good EVs are.
Second, as far as I can figure I have been posting facts and data, as opposed to simply opinions on any OP thread.
Third, being skeptical and coldly objective about a topic is hardly trying to be argumentative. I try to give a different perspective if possible, one rooted in my viewpoint and in surveys or studies done out there.
In this case, someone mentioned that no one goes back to ICE after trying a BEV. Obviously, this is hardly possible (especially as it is derived from anecdotal evidence of which I have my own), so I posted something that shows that yes, people DO go back or buy more ICE even after owning a BEV (or a PHEV, or an HEV). Happens all the time. Nothing in that article is completely false, assuming their statistics are done correctly.
EV is a far safer car including its ability to accelerate.
Eh, I'd rather be in an S-Class or a big SUV than a Tesla in any serious accident. I don't think they are "far safer" cars. But yes they are fast to dart around, accident avoidance etc.

But they are proven to be safe cars, it is not subjective. And what you are talking about is weight, and Teslas have plenty.
You're younger brother is an outlier. I have no idea what you are posting, but I can say it's pure garbage. There is a ton of data on this, I'll just pick Kelly Bluebook:

I believe the last big investors that bet against Tesla lost something like $61.8 Billion

agreed generally, but while my lc500 may be slightly slower than my ioniq from a stop, it catches up and is quicker once going and they're both a hoot to drive.

ah, the toyota spin. i guess any vehicle (even my gas golf cart) with a 12v battery can be called an ev.
even though filling less often than in the past, your phev still uses stinky gasoline and a noisy ice.

rooted in your viewpoint to be sure... aka an agenda. in fact, i think you might be the only user on this sub-forum that's a big fqn of hybrids and phev. certainly the most uh, confident in your views.

So i'm not usually a defender of Toyota's interiors(generally don't care for them), but regardless of powertrain, I'd take that interior over the Tesla's.
The Tesla minimalist interior isn't for everybody, and to act like it's just objectively "right" is fanboyish and stupid.

You prefer the interior of your 1990 and 1987 Camry over this?
I’m the only one here with a RAV4 and this is the interior of RAV4 hybrid so I take this was a dig at me?
It works for me. To hit the horse one last time, I like some buttons.
Posting anecdotes and passing them off as statistics or even a general trend is not a good look.

By far, the interior quality is 10x better there is no contest. Seats after 35+ years are like new, soft touch plastics everywhere. Seat comfort far better. Toyota has taken a drastic step back compared to their prime years.

Says the owner of a sweet sounding V8 that runs on the same stinky gas. You guys may run into each other at the stinky gas station. 🤣
