Swapped cars this morning with my son, so brought the torque machine to work (Polestar). I have to say, it has a better suspension setup than my Y, and definitely isolates road noise much better. Very European driving experience. The Y is more comfortable, but the Polestar is more "cozy". And when you put your foot down....I forgot how fun this car is . Downside is it's slower infotainment screen that now feels so ancient
I'll probably be switching up cars with my son in mid-April, as he's putting way too much miles on it. I look forward to it, as this is the way funner car to drive, especially sitting at a light with a Mustang, Charger or BMW next to me
I like it! But I also liked the Honda e that never made it stateside
I loved the Honda e and wish it had come here. The thumbnail on that video reminds me of when I looked at the NSX and the last-gen Celica. To drive either one, I would have had to open the sunroof or remove the targa, raise the seat slightly, and rest my chin on the roof.

I prefer the Tesla's limited buttons much better. It's much easier to access things like HVAC in the Y. The Polestar has better wiper controls. I don't have an iPhone, so I can care less about CarPlay. Since this is basically a giant Android screen running Android Automotive, it has most functions I need. It is way slower than Tesla's screen, which is instant, for example by the time Google maps loads, you add the address and start, I'm already on my way in my Y. Same thing with the HVAC, it's a two step process in the Polestar, it's one touch in the Y
I still hate screen controlled vents. I'd rather have the manual adjustments.
I'm totally fine with them. I set the vents when I first got the Y, and haven't had to touch them once since. They adjust to other profiles, and adjust back. I have to manually readjusts them in the Polestar as well as the Ioniq, something I never have to do for the Y.
What I do like better in the Polestar is the windshield wiper control stalk. I wish Tesla had one, but I can keep wishing till my face turns blue
What's everyone current thoughts on the EV transition?

2. Tesla likely will be reporting a YOY first quarter decline in sales estimated around 421k units.
3. Toyota Hybrid sales are up 18.7% for the year selling 578k units at the end of February.
I still think we will transition to EVs but at a much slower pace than others previously thought.

It's definitely going at a much slower pace, the 2030 or 2035 hard deadlines were always unrealistic. Slowdown doesn't mean reversal. But I'm not worried about it, it will happen when it happens, and I'm fine with that. I think as people actually go out and test drive EV's, a lot of the fear will go away, they will sell themselves. As many of us have mentioned, I think most of us are never going back

That's an important distinction. As long as growth continues, even with lowering expectations, as long as it's comparable or above the previous years, I don't think it's anything to be concerned about. Sure, I'll have to hold on to my TSLA a bit longer, but that wouldn't be the first time

Definitely, it will be interesting to see sales figures the end of 2024 for EVs by each manufacturer. I have no doubt the total will be higher than 2023.

I can tell you that in the Bay Area, charging for apartment dwellers is not really a big issue. A lot of companies have Level 2 chargers, and there are number of free Tesla destination chargers everywhere. Just down the street from our building (half a block), there is a parking lot full of Tesla Level 2 chargers. One of my co-workers sometimes plugs his car in morning, and walks. Heads back around lunch time. It's 100 percent free, and there are always available chargers there.
