Makes sense
if only we had someone on the inside of trd...
I don't think it will be easy to source out the turbo even if TRD officially releases the TRD engine, and on the hypothetical chance that they, it will be limited quantity and the turbo cost alone would be ridiculous and they wont cover us for warranty since our engine is "Not TRD" typical Toyota , so we would be stuck with buying a very expensive aftermarket turbo
Soooo you’re saying just mod the insides of the stock turbo and Lexus wouldn’t even know... lmfao
but I assume what tti is doing would be relatively cheap

Yes as our friend IS200TFOWL said,TTI's hybrid will be for sure cheaper no doubt

TTI isn’t doing cheap work however it would be considerably less than a TRd kit and it’s because of the warranty. Maybe soon we will be able to buy the trd modified turbo kit for like 5-10k and have a Toyota/Lexus dealer install and adjust the ecu. Atleast that’s how I understood it with my friends tacoma he got a yr/12k warranty on the supercharger. Just like you can buy a TRd supercharger everywhere online maybe it’ll soon be the same for our turbo. Also it looks like it might include a modified intake manifold which I can’t fully see in the picture
I can’t see anything in your photo of the stock engine. Looks like there’s stuff covering a majority of the stock turbo. the picture angle is different too. Maybe these photos will help us further determine

I can clearly see a difference in the compressor housing size. Also look how higher up it sits in relation to the water pump pulley. Lets just agree do disagree lol.
We know this TRD turbo charger would be ridiculously priced, but i am hopeful for cheaper aftermarket alternative. Lets see
Also that is the only tuning program that i know of that is available for our car. What did OV use?

The frame/housing is factory outer dimensions. The innards are a different story, the EVO crowd have done this for years.
