Default Need Elegant Solution for Left Kick Panel

My carpet on the driver's side, left foot kick panel is wearing thin. I am guessing my wear of Merrells is causing a premature wear spot.

I was wondering if anyone has an elegant solution for a plastic cover/carpet/whatever to cover this corner spot.

Let me know your thoughts.

Thanks in advance,
LDMF

I suppose you are referring to the dead pedal spot. Here are two threads. The first one discusses various ways that CLers have addressed the issue. The second one describes my dead pedal modification, which is pretty elegant, if I may say so myself

Here is a pic. It is actually to the left of the dead pedal.

The dead pedal solution was elegant.

Wow, that's pretty bad. Two suggestions:

1. Dye it black - will be worn but much less apparent.
2. Cut out that section of carpet and replace it (a good uphostery or carpet shop should be able to do this quite cheaply).

Good luck.

I was just going to suggest some Rit dye on so that it is not so obvious. Can get it at any craft store or grocery store usually. Make sure water is very hot when you spray it on. Follow bottle directions. If not the above carpet repair suggestion may work as well followed by a weather floor mat to protect the area from wear occurring again.
