Small word friend. MCAS New River, HMM365 Mag-29. Mad many trips to Beaufort, trained with a SAR unit out of there, before we would embark on MED floats. 👍
Same here, 1st hearing test was when I started working for the airlines. Also how I got to Atlanta...lol.
Semper Fi
VMFA-122 Crusaders, we were always jealous of the Oki deployments since they got the best stereo and electronics, stuff they didn't sell in the states (we were NATO so only did Europe). Towards the end of the month when money got tight you could usually find a great deal on the bulletin boards.

Ah man, the good 'ol days. Med Floats...did a few of those too. But yeah, you're right, Okinawa was def the deal for the electronics. You could also order through the AAFES catalogs.
(sorry for jacking this thread, guys)
Both the Coupe and Convertible have 13 speakers per the ML site. Only difference per the ML site is the Coupe's towards the side panels, the Verts are towards the rear deck.
I was searching this thread for the instructions that user ASONG1 had posted on how to improve the ML sound system. Somebody with an LC wanted to know what I did to make mine sound better. After searching I realized that he deleted every post on Club Lexus for some reason. Knowing how I am, I figured that I mostly likely snapped a pic of my PC screen with my cell phone so I could quickly look at the instructions in my car while make the suggested adjustments. Bingo...found the pic! Figured I'd post it here in case it can help someone else tweak their system because it worked well for me.

I would love to tweak my ML sound quality, but when I zoom in, it's not readable. My downloaded version is the same.

Of course, everyone has a different sound profile that they prefer. I like surround on, treble maxed, mids at 50%, bass a dot above 50%, faded to the rear 1 or 2 dots, (I adjust depending on the song). Usually jam out around 53 to 57 volume and man this ML system bumps pretty damn hard for me.
