Yep. My high-rez Sam Cooke albums do not sound nearly as engaging as my high-rez Taylor Swift albums.

That's just the way it is with some older music and the way it was mixed for some reason. Old school Hip Hop always sounds less clear and plays at a lower volume. Method Man tracks sound like that and one of worst offenders I've ever run into is Digable Planets "Rebirth of Slick". Classic amazing track but sounds like ****. 80's Hip Hop is even worse.

you are correct Bitka. todays technology, studio equipment recording equipment is so superior than the old day technology. So the result in the recordings are so much crisper, cleaner than the 50's-90's.its like tv high def 1080p vs. 4K, so much cleaner to the eye is the viewing today vs. years ago.

I stretch the legs of the ML system from time to time. Qobuz high-res tracks from the likes of Usher, Notorious B.I.G., Lauryn Hill, Outkast, The Chronic album, Nelly Furtado, or some TLC turned up to about 54, 55 usually gets the job done. 👍🏾

Coupe, good riddance, no one wants to sit there anyway.
Update: removing back window did not do it for me, now I am thinking dropping the transmission

Most of 2Pac’s albums suck for dynamics too—even on Tidal Hi-Rez.

Knowing how I am, I figured that I mostly likely snapped a pic of my PC screen with my cell phone so I could quickly look at the instructions in my car while make the suggested adjustments. Bingo...found the pic! Figured I'd post it here in case it can help someone else tweak their system because it worked well for me.

Thanks for posting this. I was really concerned there was some weird digital processing going on in my 25 convertible I wouldn't be able to work around. It seemed to me the bass would just cut out between 40-50 mph at any volume over 40 or so. I tried disabling surround and auto sound leveling to no avail. At first I was convinced that front door speakers might be wired out of phase. That's how strange it sounded.

So I checked out the guidance from the screenshot. It's a little better, but I think the stereo is cutting back on the bass as speed increases. I'm not sure what's going on, but the bass pales in comparison to the ML system that was in my GSF.

There's definitely something wrong because the bass in mine really booms.

I just went for a ride early this morning. I tried top up/down, cruising at 40/50/60 mph. Two things for sure;

1. I just need to get used to this system doesn't hit as hard as the ML did in my GSF.

2. Turning off the surround sound definitely helps.

For me, turning off the Surround Sound was the biggest improvement. I've also adjusted Treble/Bass almost to max. Another thing I've found, is with the top down and windows up (yea, anathema for some) it makes a big difference in the acoustics.
