I have no problem using my phone as a wifi hotspot but other people are driving the car sometimes and I'd like the internet connection running 24/7, plus I can track the car this way.
FWIW, on my unit the Developer Password is 7890.

Oh man, thank god I decided to check this site before I puchased this stereo. I was looking everywhere for a good spec'd version of this including alibaba and now I know it still has some flaws that need to be fixed. I'm gonna hold back for a while until y'all give this a green light for buying. Thank you zcollier, Dukenukemx, BabyGate and everyone else for keeping me posted!

Mine does display temp (JDM vehicle, not US) in air con screen, maybe because it was factory degrees C rather than F ????

Units do work on cars with original nav, just need to modify wiring and add connector (I used topic on here to convert non nav to nav but did it in reverse)

Biggest annoyance I have with unit is it kills spotify after about 30 secs if it's running in background, doesn't if spotify screen is up (basically have to kill nav to keep spotify runing)
Did you ever find a solution for the app terminating on the background?

Im not sure if this is a 100% confirmation but cpu-z seems to show that, at least my unit is rooted

Hey guys, I've been reading through this forum to help decide on purchasing this unit. Any help on the matter would be greatly appreciated. I'm still a little unclear on the AUX and how it works. Its really important for me to have the OEM center armrest AUX port work with this unit, would someone be able to describe how and if it works ok? Thanks!

Also, my car is from Canada and default is Celsius for temp. To my understanding, the brown CANBUS should work fine (except for the radio freq.)?

Since this unit works together with the stock radio and dvd unit, the AUX functions the same way as before. There is the OriginalCar app on the android unit itself that let you switch between stock Radio, DVD, and Aux input.

And yes, other than the radio frequency issue like it doesn't match exactly but close enough, everything works fine on my Canada non-nav IS250 with the brown canbus decoder.

When I run Tasker or any app that needs rooted access, it still said it needs root. So even though it shows rooted, it is not really rooted.

Default Update

I received the following message from topnavi001, I confirmed that I needed the USA version and that it is Orange in color.

so it looks like eBay seller Topnavi001 and Shenzhen Topnavi Electronic Tech Co Ltd are indeed one in the same. It also confirms to me that they are shooting in the dark a little bit. I will update this thread as soon as I get the new canbus hopefully with good news.

New message from: topnavi001 (2,144)

hello.

thanks for your information

so you need the orange color CAN BUS adapter or the deep red color CAN BUS adapter?

And please confirm me again what you need is the USA version CAN BUS adapter or the Europe version CAN BUS adapter, thanksRegards
Karen

Hey BabyGate, did you ever end up getting the OBD plug or fixing your backup camera issue?

Thanks, this is the info I'm looking for. With so many changes to the radio unit I might considering buying another one with all the updates.

Not yet. The seller is still on holiday till 15th. So I wasn't able to get any respond from them yet. If anyone has the OBD connector wire laying around, can you take a picture of it and post it here? I guess I can make my own plug if I know which 2 pins that I need to use for the OBD plug.
