Hey guys, anyone tried to connect a bluetooth OBD2 reader or any other bluetooth device for that matter? I don't see a setting menu for bluetooth? just wifi and hotspot.
Yea, a bluetooth obd2 will work. You have to use the phone/bt app to connect to it though. It is the same as connecting a phone.
Is there a way to restore the unit to factory settings? There's an option for it in the settings but it requires a password and the typical passwords (123456 or 7890) do not seem to work. Is there any danger to doing this? Like if the company pre-installed some things that would be wiped out by resetting it.
Thanks for the help.
I did the factory reset once. It retained most of the pre-installed app. It is not an issue since all the core apps are retained. The others are just music, file manager app etc that can be redownloaded from Google Play afterward.
Thanks BabyGate. Tried the BT/phone app wasn't able to, detect any of the various BT devices I've tried (ie speakers, earphones, computer OBD dongle) only the phone. I guess they disabled the actually Bluetooth drivers from the OS..
Yeah, I'll have to try another one. Thanks for the confirmation. I can connect my phone with no issues. I can see the various bluetooth devices when I scan for it, but when I try to click on it to connect, nothing happens...
BabyGate, I can see the Bluetooth device, but when I try to click/tap on it, nothing happens . As a sanity test for me, would you mind trying to connect any other device (ie BT headphones /or speakers) to see if you are experiencing the same thing as well? Much appreciated
In the meantime, I'll try to order the obd you have and try that one as well
I connected another phone and it would detect and asked for the pair code as usual. One thing you can try is go into the Settings in BT app and edit the pair pass code. Delete the existing one and re-enter the same or a new one and see if that works or not.
Hey Cambre, once you go into settings - Date & Time - turn off the - Automatic Date & Time then - TimeZone and - Use 24 hour format - both become available.

Thanks for testing that for me. I can connect to my phone fine, but I actually meant to try another device other than a phone. Im thinking the android unit is able to detect a certain subset of devices, but when I try to pair my BT headphones, speakers, OBD nothing happens. Also tried deleting the existing pairing code..
Would you be able to try to pair some other device (other than a phone) ? Thanks
I tried to pair a bt speaker and it didn't work too. It detects it but nothing happen when you click on it. So it looks like it will only connect to phone and might be some BT odb2 adapter.
Hey thanks again for confirming that for me BabyGate. Certainly looks like it. Seems they have their own implementation of the Bluetooth driver and disabled it from the OS.
My stereo sometimes doesn't make any sound except for some popping now. So this weekend I have to take it out and look inside to see what went wrong. Bound to happen with these cheap Chinese Android stereos. I'll record what I find.
Has anyone had issues ordering recently? I just placed an order from TopNavi and they keep asking for info about my car to make sure it fits (which it does). I've sent them an email to the address they gave me and also sent the info directly through AliExpress' messaging system but just sent another email saying they are waiting for my response.
Just make sure you insist they need to send you the US Canbus decoder if you decided to go through with the purchase.
Now anyone know if there is a way to remove the guide line on a cheap ebay backup camera? This unit has the Reverse Trajectory option that you can turn on for any backup camera, and it is actually pretty good.

Do you have your old radio that you could put back in and see if that works? It could also be an issue with the factory amp in the trunk. It seems a common problem with our model that water or condensation finds its way into the amp, causing no sound etc.
