Good question...the most obvious thing I find is that Porsche is trying to pass off plastic as an interior material. And I'm not just talking about pleather either. On the Tesla, at least the pleather feels like leather and there's some padding and good stitching to compliment it. On this cheap taycan, everywhere you touch, it's not soft padding like that...it feels and looks just like plastic, especially the steering wheel.

I suspect you tested a RWD version (regarding the squirming).
Really? Whereabouts are you? I live in the Evergreen area, but have been here over 35+ years...
I wouldn't bother trying to convince ICE fanbois....no matter what you say, they can't get past the traditional thinking, and will try to interject at every opportunity they can for no sound reason other than their personal bias.

BTW I'm in SJ. Saw you were near my neck of the woods today

I'm in NE SJ near Alum Rock park, and my office is North SJ on the border of Milpitas. We also have an office in Milpitas and soon Fremont near the Tesla factory. Moved to the Bay area from SoCal in 2001, made the Bay Area my home but go back frequently to visit my family.
Look, I get it. Until I actually I drove one myself, I could not wrap it around my head that something running on batteries could even be viable much less compete with ICE. Once I actually sat in one and then drove one...and now live with two of them I get it. But that said, I still have a nice chuckle when people say they are not fun. LOL. I just say, OK, whatever
BTW if I were you I wouldn't waste my time with EQS unless you are just curious about it. I'm not saying it's not a good car, it's gotten great reviews including one from one of our members, but my money is on the Plaid. I would already have my order in...
I'm probably not going to go... I don't know why, but in the S, I feel young and fun. In the i7, I felt really old driving it around, even with all the cool tech and stuff. The Taycan is about my age lol.....
I think the only question now is whether to get same exact color as before or go with something different....

@bitkahuna didn't have time to go by MB....may go tomorrow to check out the eqs....though driving the i7, I feel really old vs my plaid before. I reckon I will have the same feeling on a Benz....lol
Ps - I forgot to mention. The brakes (Regen) on the taycan sucks bad....i7 stopped great though.
Pss - that Hans Zimmer "soundtrack" on the i7 is cheesy as hell lol.....
I would really try to find the AMG EQS. The revised suspension makes a huge difference.
I agree with the others though, another Model S is probably where you’ll end up. And that’s not a bad place to be at all.
If I had to give up my Plaid for another EV I think the only two would be the Etron GT or the Lucid Air. I just got back from Coronado and there was a two tone burgundy and silver Air that looked really good for a sedan. The only problem is those two are much more expensive so I would just get another Plaid.
One of my brother in law's is on his second S. Both were leases, he was going to buy out his current lease because of the crazy market but now he has more options.. and leverage. I'm going to convince him to buy a plaid!

I really don’t like the Lucid Air. Something about it just doesn’t sit right with me and I’ve been in my neighbor’s plenty. I will say the performance is excellent of course.
The Model S and Taycan are still the best looking EVs imo.

I thought Tesla leases don’t have a buyout option? I actually think the LR is great, the Plaid is almost superfluous unless he’s that into speed.

Now they don't, but they did until last year. He's not into speed, the LR is fine for him but I'm still going to try and convince him
Onto the i7 review ...
TL;DR : more luxury then sport but unequivocally teutonic opuloence on wheels!
teutonic usually means understated i thought, and the i7 is anythng but, flashy and blingy, targeted at china.
Weird: it has a great Rolls Royce / Bentley stance butta that front snout is a big 🙈
yeah that giant front overhang and incredibly ugly front are just terrible. the giant mistake imo, is that this is a shared platform with ice. that massive hood still doesn't have a frunk.
the i7 is clearly aimed at the big ego buyer, who likes a huge flashy sedan but can't afford a rolls royce. it will do well.
