That aside, how do people respond to this new steering? Looks odd to me and I would feel uncomfortable driving this one. I often rest my left hand on that missing top piece as a habit. When I learned how to drive, my teacher said, "place your hand there in case you have a head on, your elbow will help protect you." And it became a habit. This new one seems to fit more for racing. Even newer MB's flat bottom designs are uncomfortable for me.
P90, P100, etc. are not Plaids, those are some of the pre-2021 Model S models with a different designation. Starting in 2021 the Model S was refreshed with only two models, the Long-Range and the Plaid. The Long-Range models had nothing on the back of the car but the Plaids had small chrome lettering that said the word "Plaid" on the lower right part of the hatch. Beginning in March 2022 Tesla replaced the word "Plaid" with a square sticker that is just a logo/picture of what they consider Plaid to be (do a quick search online and you will see the picture). Only the Plaid X and S models get this Plaid badge.

Thanks. Just did some google search. The X has P90D that looks like Ludicrous Mode. Is it a Plaid? His personal plate says so.

Welp, I waited it out and ended up getting a red one for 18k off lol....

Picking it up on 3/2, so if 3/1 announcement is big enough, I can cancel again lol

Agreed. Yokes are for aircraft, not vehicles. That's because, unlike in a car or truck, a pilot or co-pilot often has to hold and use the yoke with one hand, actually flying the aircraft, and adjust the throttle(s) and other engine controls for power/RPM with the other......such as in taxiing, certain flight maneuvers or take-offs/landing approaches.

Yokes have been used, to some extent, in certain racing vehicles, but they are not driven under street conditions, and require different levels of control at much higher speeds.

Nice, I like the red. I was in a red with white interior Plaid this weekend and the white interior was really nice. It has wood trim which I hadn’t seen in person on a Plaid and it looked good too.

No it was an early 2021 Plaid and he ordered it that way. The red with white looked really really good.

congrats! so how does that discount work... were you able to negotiate that or was it just offered? was it a demo model or something hence the discount?

as for 3/1 announcement, obviously i don't know what or when specifically, but obviously hw4 is imminent.

Congratulations!!

I think waiting for HW4 - which is mainly for the use of FSD is not worth it unless someone feels that FSD is all its hyped up to be.

The Model S is already an absolutely amazing car with the best EV drivetrain and one of the most enjoyable cars to drive. It doesn't "need" FSD to make it better.

I just told my sales advisor what I wanted, and she set me up with the rest. It was another showroom demo, but I stipulated it had to be driven less than 50 miles (it was 15), so know it wasn't abused (they have 80mph speed limiters at any rate - amhik! &#128513.

I'm.not worried about hw4, as I don't use FSD. I'm more worried about other changes: 4680 batteries, more power, etc.

Congrats! Wise to schedule for 3/2. You never know what might be announced this week.
