i mean how 'sporty' is one going to drive a huge heavy model X besides fast in a straight line? it's not a track vehicle
i found the eqs suv suspension to be wonderful.
I'll have to let ST430 answer that, but clearly the market responds positively to sportier options in this segment. Who would've thought people like choice? I find the EQS SUV's suspension to be great for it's luxury-focused role but too soft for my own personal liking. There's no AMG version of this coming down the line, although the EQE SUV will get an AMG variant.
I believe I was given a Taycan base model (don't know as the salesperson just gave me the keys and let me drive it without a word).
TL;DR: Great ride, looks, and interior, only betrayed by it's power, tires, and cheap materials.
Good: Wonderful interior design that is simple and effective yet still elicits luxury. Handling is on par with typical German cars. Kool little whoosh sounds when driving gives it a little more aural sensation (for those that miss ice exhaust note)
Bad : Car tends to squirm all of the place even in sport + mode. Louder inside then expected, especially road noise. Power very lacking.
Prices can get up there with just a few options.
Ugly : Cheap materials (fake leather look plastic) abound, even to the steering wheel. Very unexpected for Porsche model. Prices can get up there with just a few options. And lastly, 1.5+ year wait....

How does the 'not so great interior materials " compare to the Plaid you had?
I suspect you tested a RWD version (regarding the squirming).
Hmm. I didn't have the squirm issue in the one I've driven but I do agree with the other points, particularly the road noise and interior materials. The interior noise is more 911 than Panamera. The interior materials can be helped by adding several expensive interior upgrades but it's Porsche's most blatant cost cut interior out of all the models imo. My neighbor's 4S is fully dressed up in the interior but I know she paid over $10k in interior upgrades for it to be acceptable in her eyes.
Very curious to hear your i7 impressions. My grandmother just took delivery of hers but needs to go back to the BMW dealer for more remedial classes on how to use it. Might as well stop by and drive an AMG EQS to round out your choices.
Lol...you know, I have a 700whp zupra open downpipe dump (no exhaust). Sure, it's fun to run it hard with the kiddies doing burble maps and burnouts and all sorts of hooligan stuff, but after my plaid, I don't miss it at all.
I rather have a quiet restrained ride so I can boom the song I like and still go fast. And if you think you don't need to pay attention when controlling a 1020hp 2 ton beast, I don't know what else to tell you.
If I wanted sound, I would rather get something like a gt500, or maybe a z06. But honestly, after having so many modified cars, could care less now especially that I have a factory warranty to back it up.
There is a world of difference between a modified Supra and a proper V8 tt German sport sedan / performance SUV.
Again the 3sec acceleration is nothing special especially considering all the luxury and build quality you are giving up. I also prefer to hear real noises and proper acceleration with gear changes etc. Now if you are sitting in traffic 99% of the time and want to have EV to save on gas the i understand. As a luxury performance car, I don’t think the Plaid is anywhere close to class leading. Just get M5 comp, its by far much more unique than Teslas which are dime a dozen.
The acceleration of a Plaid is absolutely something special. Its totally different than what you can achieve in any ICE car. Its different, but that doesn't mean it isn't fun.
Have you driven a Plaid or any performance Tesla? The word "Boring" and Tesla don't go together. Any Tesla owner can tell you that. And it's not drinking Kool aid.
yes i have - they are decent cars with major drawbacks for me.
If you want an appliance then its perfect. They have zero character and you never feel you are “driving” the car, its like a video game. You don’t even know when the damn thing is on lol. Zero feedback.

Plaid is way more fun than an M5 Comp IMO.
LOL no way, not even close.
Plaid is faster than many cars but that doesn’t translate to better or more fun.
Thats your opinion. I disagree...thats why there are different options.
I don't know man, I had a ton of fun today when I put my foot down to the floor of my Polestar and watched my co-worker say "Oh s h i t, I went blind for a second!" Never gets old
