OK, for your needs maybe. But for my needs this would replace my Sienna easily. I just don't want to spend $100K plus on a vehicle, which is why I wouldn't buy it
Like I said, my Sienna has more cargo room, but as far as a people hauler, it's about the same as the Model X. I'm almost an empty nester, my daughter has already graduated and my son is in his second year of college. If he goes the Computer Science/Engineering route in two years he'll be in the job market...unfortunately it looks like he's going Premed...anyway I don't need the room of the Sienna anymore. I'm just holding on to it because it's a damn good van, it's paid off and still has plenty of life left (170K)
OP: Buy what your heart tells you. Not happy driving a Camry is not a first world problem. Wanting an S Plaid over an X Plaid for fastness is one. Lol.
Never a fan of this new type of steering wheel.
That's nice you could load all those things. But it won't work for this guy. If the OP needs to... transport boxes ... fast, he will need an X. Lol
He didn't say anything about a requirement to transport boxes. My response was to Margate that the OP can't transport an 85 inch TV in an S.
I wasn't leasing, and wouldnt with the fact you can't lease to own (no buyout) with Tesla leases. I should said better resale value with the X, though I don't plan on getting another car afterwards (knock on wood!). Insurance already indicated they are totalling the car, so they'll give me DMV - what I owe on it. Luckily, I'm fortunate enough to be able to buy another car while that process is going on in parallel.
Still woozy right now and think I had a concussion, but could of been a lot worse after reviewing the dashcam footage.

more importantly, how are you feeling, and will you be suing the other driver, at least for medical costs? although perhaps their insurance pays that.
Thanks for all the suggestions ... I drove a model x LR and it was surprisingly quick for a winged van ()! The large expansive windshield is weird, especially the sun visors, but I guess you can tint it to a good getting blinded by the sun. The falcon doors seems scary for me. My son is 6 and I worry that 1) he plays with it too much and 2) he accidentally gets hit/pinch by it (doubt it, but it scared me when I was sitting there and it was going down. Wish the Plaids had a bench instead of a 6 seat arrangement!
Other than that, the thing felt like a tank as others noted. As I said earlier, even for the LR, it felt quick where I can merge easily on the highway.
It would definitely be different but not sure it's me...
Thanks, I have driven an ix m50 already, and if it was for my wife, would of bought it already. My assessment of an ix vs. a model x:
- about same price range $110-$120k
- about 400-500hp less
- smaller interior (5 seat vs 6)
- cool tech like electroluminescent top glass
- idrive 8 (prefer this actually)
- nicer interior materials
But what (still) turns me off as you noted : it's looks. Just can't do it for my own car lol.
Lol...you know, I have a 700whp zupra open downpipe dump (no exhaust). Sure, it's fun to run it hard with the kiddies doing burble maps and burnouts and all sorts of hooligan stuff, but after my plaid, I don't miss it at all.
I rather have a quiet restrained ride so I can boom the song I like and still go fast. And if you think you don't need to pay attention when controlling a 1020hp 2 ton beast, I don't know what else to tell you.
If I wanted sound, I would rather get something like a gt500, or maybe a z06. But honestly, after having so many modified cars, could care less now especially that I have a factory warranty to back it up.

There is no sound, no drama, really no involvement driving these Teslas imo.
I personally would get a X5M comp, GLE63 or Cayenne Turbo for the sound alone.
Way more luxurious and better built.
I'm going to try to check out that eqs soon, though it's lacking a bit if hp. I may check out the taycan gran Turismo, but kinda out of my price range.
And thx, I have seen a doctor and have a checkup tomorrow!
